CES 2020 is already racking up to be a bit of a disappointment, starting off withSony’s underwhelming PS5 announcement, and continuing on as AMD bungles a showcase for theXbox Series X. So, only two days into the event and already gamers have been given little to look forward to from the companies that have presented at CES so far.

The mistake made in AMD’s conference occurred when showing a number of pieces of tech that the company’s products have been used in, including theXbox Series X. According to reports on AMD’s images of Microsoft’s newest console, Phil Spencer has made a statement claiming that the presentation showed inaccurate information about the system.

AMD’s image in question shows ports in the back of the system that would be used to connect the Xbox to power sources, monitors, and the internet. According to Spencer’s statement, the image that shows this rear-view of the console comes from a 3D renderingposted to TurboSquidand is not an official representation of the Xbox. While Spencer didn’t mention what the actual ports will look like on the system, a recent update of the Microsoft Executive’s profile picture on Twitter has displayedthe new Xbox’s “8K” Processor.

From the looks of the incorrect image, the ports on the render of the system include a number of the standard connections most players would expect in new hardware, although it does leave out some older connection options. It is possible that the inaccuracies Spencer mentioned in his statement involve a lack of alternate display ports including VGI or DVA that the new Xbox may use to give players more options for connecting the possible 8K gaming system and ensure itsadvertised 120 FPS output. At the moment, this is all speculation, as neither Microsoft nor Spencer have confirmed exactly what the rear view and ports of the system will look like.

The future of the Xbox Series X is still up in the air, although Spencer has been fairly vocal from back when the console was referred to as Project Scarlett about its impressive specs. With a processor rumored tovirtually eliminate load times, Microsoft’s upcoming console is set to redefine gaming later this year. However, it seems it’ll be a while before players get a full look at the new Xbox, and all of the ways that the system will allow them to play at launch.
