WWE 2K22released last month to mostly positive reviews, with many critics hailing it as a huge step forward for the franchise. Wrestling fans the world over seem to be impressed withWWE 2K22, but there’s always room for improvement. Visual Concepts and 2K Sports have released multiple updates forWWE 2K22since its launch, but the recently-released update 1.09 is easily one of the most important yet.
Not only didWWE 2K22update 1.09squash bags and address various other lingering issues with the game, but it also made some substantial improvements based on fan feedback and other factors. The latestWWE 2K22update gives players more content to engage with in the game, while also improving on some existing features.

WWE 2K22update 1.09 made a lot of changes and fixes to the popular pro wrestling game, but these two changes in particular stand out as particularly noteworthy.
NXT 2.0 Arena
Whenever a WWE video game comes out, there are inevitably some aspects of it that are outdated. Oftentimes they launch with superstars on the roster who are no longer with the company, or sometimes they are missing some of the newer stars.WWE 2K22is no exception to that rule, with various aspects of it outdated. One of the more glaring examples was the lack of theNXT 2.0 arena, meaning players could only play using the old “black and gold” version of the developmental brand.
While theblack and gold NXTmay be the more popular brand with fans, there are still those who would prefer a more up-to-date experience. Update 1.09 letsWWE 2K22fans battle out in the NXT 2.0 arena, letting them better represent what’s shown on the current television product.
MyGM Tag Titles
The other big change that came withWWE 2K22update 1.09 was the addition of tag team championships inMyGM mode. Prior to the update,WWE 2K22players were only able to utilize singles championships on their shows, but now they can have a proper tag team division. The game also expanded match cards soWWE 2K22players are able to have more matches per show, which ensures that they are able to take better advantage of their roster, whereas before it was easy for wrestlers to get lost in the shuffle.
It will be interesting to see if future freeWWE 2K22updates improve on MyGM further or add other new content. We do know that more content is on the way in the form of paid DLC, like the upcomingBanzai Pack, so fans have that to look forward to at least.
