One such feature coming in Guardians of the Dream will be the ability to use traditional flying on the Dragon Isles. Because of the introduction of the dynamic Dragonriding system, normal flying mounts have been unable to fly when usedinDragonflight’s zones. However, in Patch 10.2, players will be able to unlock the Dragon Isles Pathfinder achievement, enabling them to use their normal flying mounts in these zones once more.
Dragon Isles Pathfinder is thankfully much easier to earn thanother similarWorld of Warcraftachievementsused to unlock flying in the past. Here’s how players can unlock normal flying forDragonflightin Patch 10.2:
It may seem like most players wouldn’t want to use normal flying with Dragonriding as an option, but having access to the traditional method of transportation is a good thing. Though Dragonriding is significantly faster and more fun, regular flying allows for a greater level of precision and freedom, plus the ability to AFK in the air and take screenshots. Additionally, some players with physical disabilities find Dragonriding difficult or frustrating to use, so being able to use regular flying mounts is also an accessibility option.
Luckily, fans of Dragonriding will soon be able to use the dynamic flight system outside the Dragon Isles as well.World of Warcraftrecently confirmed its plans to enable dynamic flighton most flying mounts, and it is adding its first non-draconic mount as a drop from the Amirdrassil raid. It hasn’t been confirmed when this function will be added, butWorld of Warcrafthopes to implement Dragonriding everywhere before the end ofDragonflight.
World of Warcraftis available now for PC.
