Unfortunately, the Treasure Goblins have returned to Sanctuary, but they left behind one last gift forWorld of Warcraftplayers. A strange wind has blown in from Sanctuary, bringing inspiration and vigor to the heroes of Azeroth. From now until July 11, allWorld of Warcraftcharacters will gain 50% more experience all the way through level 70 with the Winds of Sanctuary buff. Additionally, players will gain 50% more reputation withallDragonflightRenown factionsexcept the new Loamm Niffen from Embers of Neltharion.
The Winds of Sanctuary buff is similar to the Winds of Wisdom retailWorld of Warcrafthas given out in the past, or the Joyous Journeys buff that is active inWrath of the Lich King ClassicuntilCall of the Crusadelaunches on June 20. These events are always great for players looking to level alts, but the Winds of Sanctuary is also a good opportunity for them to max out their Renown with the four major factions ofDragonflightif they have not done so yet already.
Players are often excited about experience buffs, but the Winds of Sanctuary is one of the best onesWorld of Warcrafthas ever done. Though plenty of players wish the Loamm Niffen were included in the event, the generous reputation boost will help them catch up Renown with alts all the same. With manyplayers having completed the campaign inDiablo 4, this event could be what was needed to get people back in Azeroth.
The Winds of Sanctuary end date may also be a huge hint forWorld of Warcraft’sfuture. Patch 10.1.5, Fractures in Time, is currently in development and is expected to release this summer. Considering this event ends on July 11, it is possibleWorld of Warcraftcould be planning to release Patch 10.1.5 a week or two after–or maybe even the same day. Players won’t know for sure when the nextDragonflightupdate is coming until an official release date is shared, but thenextWorld of Warcraftpatch is definitely closerthan many might think.
World of Warcraftis available now for PC.
