wow df what sword that sword

However, after the announcement ofThe War Withinat BlizzCon, Blizzard snuck in a couple more bonus rewards for November in a quiet update to theofficialWorld of Warcraftwebsite. Seetheras, Broadsword of the Sunderer, and Gorridar, Darkblade of the Sunderer, are one- and two-handed swords inspired by the sword Sargeras plunged into Silithus at the end ofLegion, which is featured prominently in the trailer forThe War Within. Players can earn these two new transmogs by completing their Traveler’s Log tasks for the month, and they can find them in their collection now if they have done so already.

November Trading Post Bonus Rewards

The sword of Sargeras never received an official name inWorld of Warcraftlore, but in the non-canon tabletop roleplaying system, his blade was called Gorribal and was the sister blade to Taeshalach, the weapon wielded by his pupil Aggramar. The names and flavor texts of Seetheras and Gorridar are obviously inspired by old lore, and considering Taeshalach eventually made the leap from the TTRPG book to canon, it is possible the blade’s name could be revealed to be Gorribal now that theiconicWorld of Warcraftweaponis a major plot point again.

“Forged from malignant chaos to strike at the target’s heart. Those whose souls burn with all-consuming rage are drawn to its dark fire."

“Malice and hatred honed into a weapon designed to lay waste to entire worlds. Beware of any who envy such a blade."

Fans were delighted to discover these new transmogs added to the game. The fearsome design is perfect for Death Knights, Warlocks, and Warriors, and players are already making excellent outfits by combining them with gear from Revendreth. The sword of Sargeras itself has been considerablymemed becauseWorld of Warcraftdidn’t mention the sword for over four years, so finally getting a small version is as hilarious as it is stylish.

The Cosmic Weapons Cache holds other references toThe War Withinas well. Voidsong, Stave of the Harbinger, shares a great deal of similarities with the artifact of Iridikron and Xal’atath, afan-favoriteWorld of Warcraftvillain. Considering the latter appeared in a trailer forThe War Withinwielding the former, and that Xal’atath’s role as the Harbinger has been confirmed, fans are already speculating about what these weapons could be teasing for the future ofWorld of Warcraft.
