Viking survival simulatorValheimexploded in popularity when it launched through Early Access on Steam earlier this year. Since its launch, its development team has been steadily working on the game which has led to an all-new patch of bug fixes releasing forValheimtoday.
For those who don’t know,Valheimputs players in the shoes of deceased Vikings sent to the realm of Valheim to earn their passage into an afterlife in Valhalla. To do so, players must scavenge supplies, craft equipment, survive the environment, and slay the ferocious beasts that are conquering the realm.Valheimdraws extensively on Norse Mythology, which allows players to face off against some of the most ferocious Norse monsters.

The newest patch, Patch 0.155.7 is primarily focused on bug fixes and small balancing tweaks. However, it does enable players to craftValheim’s maypole item just in time for midsummer. Previously, the maypole could only befound in one ofValheim’s abandoned villages. They were coveted items, as they increased the comfort players received when resting near one, so being able to craft them now should help manyValheimplayers as they build up their bases and tackle surviving in the hostile realm.
Other fixes in the patch include fixing a bug that saw player’s saves getting corrupted when exiting the game as well as fixing an issue that saw players having to click containers multiple times to open them during multiplayer sessions. The patch also fixes an issue that saw the SFX volume setting in the menu using the wrong decible conversion. The patch also tweaks some of the game’s AI, such as allowing Greydwarfs to throw more accurately and farther, reenabling the Blob event, stopping bosses from running away from players, andtweakingValheim’s wolf eventso that it only triggers after the boss Bonemass has been slain.
All in all, the patch may not be the most exciting for manyValheimplayers who are hungry for new content to play through, but the fixes and tweaks that it makes should make playing the game a bit more enjoyable and smooth for players. Of course,Valheim’s developers are still working onthe game’s sizable Hearth and Home update, which looks as though it will bring a number of changes and new content to the survival game. Hopefully, the update will come soon, so thatValheimplayers can return to the game and check out everything that is included in it.
