A gamer showed off their method of farming money inThe Witcher 3: Wild Huntby recording and posting a video of their handiwork on social media. After the video was released, other fans not only praised them for their contribution but chipped in some tips and tricks of their own for other players ofThe Witcher 3to take note of.

Originally released in 2015,The Witcher 3is considered by many gamers and critics to be amongthe best offline RPGs on PCand on consoles. As Geralt of Rivia, the titular Witcher, players are tasked with exploring the Northern Realms, fighting both monsters and humans that stand in their way while experiencing the stories of the main game and its two expansions. Though the monster-slaying Witchers are not known for carrying large sums of coin on them, one gamer flipped that trend around and showed social media how they were able to line Geralt’s pockets with crowns, the main currency of the game.

On Reddit, a user named DismalQuarter13 posted a montage on the r/Witcher3 subreddit. The video showed Geralt living up to his “Butcher of Blaviken” title by laying waste to a “hanse” base in the Toussaint region, the setting of theBlood and WineDLC. While bases like these are usually cleared out after the leader falls, DismalQuarter13 used a few clever moves to ensure enemies kept coming. As ofThe Witcher 3’s Patch 4.02 update, DismalQuarter13’s method still works. After eliminating an enemy wave using a tight corridor along with clever usage of the Yrden and Igni signs, Geralt did not engage the leader of the hanse. He instead used a portal in the basement of one of the buildings to force enemies to respawn so long as the leader is alive. This allows players to keep looting crowns and loot from the bandits and wolves that show up, allowing Geralt to easily accrue thousands of crowns at a time.

According to DismalQuarter13, the build they used called for enchantments and armor from both expansions, which made Geralt intoa durable battle mageduring the massacre. The post from DismalQuarter13 received almost 1,000 upvotes on r/Witcher3, and otherWitcher 3players praised them for showing off their method. In the comments, other users chimed in with similar builds and explained the armor, enchantments, and mutations they use to farm crowns.

Whilethe next entry inThe Witcherseriesis still a long way off, gamers can still experienceThe Witcher 3with modern enhancements. With the recent PC patch enhancing the use of DLSS 3 for Nvidia graphics cards, players like DismalQuarter13 can keep farming crowns as they see fit in the visually stunning game.

The Witcher 3: Wild Huntis available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
