The early access version ofThe Outlast Trialshas gone live, and it’s bringing the mad science of the Murkoff Corporation to life with its twisted, monster-filled experiments set in an alternate Cold Era World. Bring some friends or brave the trials alone while hiding and evading the many murderous meatheads in the game’s spooky scenarios.

Program X is a hidden level inThe Outlast Trialsthat promises even more blood-pumping horror outside the three main maps, but unlocking isn’t as simple as one would think. Players can expect to sink in a bit of time before they get to experience this core part of the game. Here’s how to unlock it.
How to Access Program X in The Outlast Trials
To unlock Program X, players need tofinish all three Programsand completeevery single Trialwithin them. Surviving them once isn’t enough, and players must run each trial several times in order to get that 100% completion requirement. Letter grades are irrelevant as far as completion requirements go, so don’t stress out about getting good marks for each challenge.
The Trials in each Program get progressively more difficult the further players progress, which makesteamwork an absolute priority. They will eventually include a variety of modifiers such as increased enemy density, more traps, more locked doors, and limited items.
Here are all the Programs inThe Outlast Trialsand the details regarding each of their Trials.
Program 1 - Police Station
This Program is set in an urban police station with long, winding halls and a pitch-dark parking garage. Players will have to power up the generators and clear the way to the execution chamber to get the job done.
Program 2 - Fun Park
The second Program takes place in a messed-up amusement park caked with blood and viscera. Here, players must play fair games, push a boat through a trap-filled tunnel of love and escape with their lives.
Program 3 - Orphanage
The final Program in the base early access version ofThe Outlast Trialswill have players skulking through an orphanage in hopes of delivering holy communion to its residents.
Finish all of these and Program X will be available to select on the mission select terminal before starting a game. It features a different set of seasonal Trials that gets updated regularly by the developers. Expect more challenges in the future as the game evolves.
