The last time Star Wars fans got to see Din Djarin in action was inThe Book of Boba Fett, and while that show sometimes felt like another season ofThe Mandalorian, it couldn’t hold a candle to Disney’s flagship series. Luckily, another season ofThe Mandalorianis on the way, as was announced at the Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim.
Executive producers Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni took the stage to discuss details about the upcoming season, and were eventually joined byKatee Sackhoff, who plays Bo-Katan Kryzein the show (Sackhoff is actually reprising the role in live-action, having previously voiced the character onStar Wars: The Clone Wars). After giving the audience a surprise preview, it was revealed that season three will premiere in February 2023.

When fansleft Mando inThe Book of Boba Fett,he had reunited with Grogu, and was setting off on a new adventure in a souped-up vintage Naboo Starfighter. This was after he had helped the titular bounty hunter defend the town of Mos Espafrom Cad Bane and the Pyke syndicate. So far, no firm story details have been released for the upcoming season, though it is likely that the dark saber will continue to play a significant role in Mando’s development. It may also be a continuing source of conflict between him and Bo-Katan, as was seen in the finale of season 2.
On top of the announcement forThe Mandalorian’s third season, several other Star Wars projects were discussed.This included the premiere of the firstAndortrailer. The series, in which Diego Luna will reprise his role fromStar Wars: Rogue One, will premiere on Disney Plus on August 31. Rosario Dawson also appeared in a video message to hype upthe upcomingAhsokaseries. That project is currently in production, and Dave Filoni will be directing some of its episodes. Ewan McGregor also showed up at the event to discussObi-Wan Kenobi, which just premiered with two episodes.
One of the more exciting announcements, though, was in regards to the upcoming series created bySpider-Man: No Way Homedirector Jon Watts.TitledStar Wars: Skeleton Crew, the show will follow a group of kids who are lost somewhere in the galaxy and need to find their way home. It was also announced that Jude Law would be joining the cast. No other details were given about the show, but it is also set to premiere sometime in 2023.
