Even though fans saw it for themselves inThe Boysseason 3, the show’s fictional superhero company Vought denies allegations that Black Noir had died brutally.Vought International responded to the allegation that Black Noir had died and the picture of his dead body with his internal organs out. The fictional company fromThe Boyssaid that not only is the allegation false, but also that Black Noir was completing a mission overseas and that the Seven is looking forward to his return, particularly the group’s leader, Homelander, which is in character for Vought.RELATED:Antony Starr Delves Into Homelander And Bully Butcher Feud On The BoysHere is what Vought International had to say about the Black Noir “hoax,” per their Twitter account. “This image of @Real_BlackNoir is fake and clearly generated by AI. He’s alive and well, and near completion of his critical mission overseas. Homelander and team look forward to his return!” The Boys' Twitter account responded to Vought’s comments, joking about what happened to Noir. “Would’ve been a real gut punch if he had been dead, thanks Vought,” they said in response.

Again, those who watch the show know the truth. Homelander brutally murdered Black Noir after discovering that Noir, the one Homelander trusted the most in The Seven, had kept the one truth from him for all these years - thatSoldier Boy is his biological father. Killing Noir was hard for Homelander because he always figured he was someone he could trust. Little did Homelander know that Noir was keeping Homelander’s true parentage away from him because of the abuse he suffered at the hands of Soldier Boy, figuring it was better for Homelander if he didn’t know of the toxic man responsible for his birth.

Black Noir’s death in the show served as a twist on multiple fronts. In the show itself, Homelander showed undying trust in Black Noir and no one else on The Seven, so to see Noir as the one Homelander would personally murder was beyond shocking. Also, since Soldier Boy was seeking revenge on Payback for turning against him and had successfully killed everyone on the team except Noir, who led the charge in betraying Soldier Boy, to see Noir die before he got the chance was also something fans did not see coming. Lastly, Noir’s death was a major change of pacecompared toThe Boyscomics, where it was revealed that Homelander was a clone of Black Noir.

Vought commenting on this also may serve as a possible preview for the upcoming fourth season. Though viewers know that Noir is dead, fans are none the wiser about his death because he hid behind his costume and never publicly showed his face. This could play further into Homelander’s broken psyche, especially since he didn’t want to kill the one supe most loyal to him. Fans have been promised thatThe Boys' violence will only escalatefrom here, so Noir’s death may play into that.
