With many likely playing for the first time, a guide to the green stars and stamp in World 2-2 might be in order.

Super Mario 3D Worldhas tweaked some elements of the game for play on the Switch, including Captain Toad going co-op. In World 2-2, Puffprod Peaks, a change has been made to blocks introduced in this stage that required the player to touch them on the Wii U tablet screen. That has been replaced with a cursor that players use to touch the blocks, allowing the player to progress.

Stamp

In Puffprod Peaks, the Stamp is the first thing players will find, making early use of the touch block mechanic. In the first section of the level, when players reach two touch platforms that rise up towards sets of “?” blocks when activated, the second platform holds a secret. When raised, players can drop down under the platform to a secret area holding the Stamp.

Green Star #1

Shortly after the Stamp location, players come to a wall of touch blocks, climbing up the wall of touch blocks, players should see the first star at the top left part of the wall. A simple wall jump should be enough to reach it. As far asSuper Mario 3D Worldgreen stars go, this one is pretty straightforward.

Green Star #2

After the checkpoint, players reach the second segment of the level, where they will encounter some floating platforms that in the original Wii U version required the player to blow into the Wii U tablet’s microphone to activate. Here the platforms move along their path without help, and early in this segment, players should see a puffy cloud at the end of one platform’s path. Jumping in to the cloud transports the player to a short bonus stage in the clouds, much like those found in thetimeless classicSuper Mario Bros. 3.

Green Star #3The third and final star is towards the end of the level. When players come to a set of three touch blocks forming steps up to the next solid platform, they should see a moving platform underneath the touch block steps that leads down to the star. Jump on to the moving platform and ride it down to the star. This is the trickiest of the three stars to snag, and players will have to have a good handle on thenew controls the Switch version of3D Worldimplements here to succeed.
