Rocksteady’sSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leagueis highly anticipated due to its legitimate ties to the Arkhamverse. It was surprising to seeSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leaguehit with such a long delayafter having released its first official gameplay trailer, but it was reassuring to see that it is at least narrowed down to a release window of spring. Spring is now approaching fairly rapidly and nothing about it has been shared since, worrying fans that the game could have another delay. It is therefore difficult to determine when fans may hear aboutSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leagueagain.
Rocksteady’s founders have left the studiosinceSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice League’s delay, and it is unknown if that has had any impact on the game’s development at all. If it has, then a delay would seem almost inevitable. The game had appeared beforehand at back-to-back DC FanDomes, but that event airs in the summer and would not line up with the game’s spring release window. Rocksteady could feasibly resurface withSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leagueat any time before then, and Geoff Keighley’s The Game Awards may be the perfect stage to do so.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leagueappeared at The Game Awards 2021with its world premiere gameplay trailer. This makes gaming’s largest celebratory event a logical place forSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leagueto appear again, and there’s enough time between the Game Awards and spring that it could kick off a legitimate marketing campaign. Rocksteady could drop another gameplay trailer, perhaps representing any changes or improvements that have been made during its delay thus far. Otherwise, another narrative teaser would be welcomed if it came appended with a new release date. Many games have been delayed only to have their new release dates announced soon thereafter.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leagueis notably in that it was delayed this year and has yet to receive any news since, meaning that Rocksteady is likely adhering to its comfortable release window of 2023, and could potentially delay it further into 2023 past its intended window of spring. The Game Awards has not alluded to whetherRocksteady’s latest Arkhamverse gamewill be returning, but since it was featured there last year there is reason to predict that it may show up once more.
Regardless, any more time thatSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leaguehas in the oven to simmer is beneficial. There will obviously be fans of the Arkhamverse who are tired of waiting, especially if they haveperceivedGotham Knightsas a disappointmentin the meantime, but the longer Rocksteady has to developSuicide Squad, the better it should hypothetically be when it finally releases.
An appearance at The Game Awards would be a huge win for fans and demonstrate that Rocksteady is once again confident in its product heading into 2023. If it is not brought back to The Game Awards, then there is always the chance thatSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leaguecould have some sudden trailer or release date post dropped, but that would obviously be harder to anticipate.
The Game Awards seems like the most likely place for it to show up as a result. Since the event is less than a couple of weeks away, it is almost time to see whetherSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leagueis ready to share more, or if it will recede into 2023 and remain silent until development is further along.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leagueis scheduled to release in early 2023 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
