Thanks to severalTwitchviewers, fans of various streamers are able to catch up with their ongoing antics through Twitch clips. Although the feature is far from new, popular Twitch streamer Felix “xQc” Lengyel has an idea that may freshen it up.

The ability to clip onTwitchwas added back in 2016, but the feature remains largely unchanged. However, xQc’s “billion-dollar” idea spotted by Dexerto may revolutionize the concept. According to xQc, people who don’t have the time to watch a streamer as much as they want need a highlight reel that they can watch to catch up. The Twitch streamer sees the idea extending beyond highlights of individual streamers, creating compilations akin to livestream fails.

Talking to a Twitch staff member known as Pluto, xQc envisioned a separate section for highlight reels of all the streamers that he’s interested in and a section for interesting things that happened on any given day. Some clips would be curated to a user’s follows and subscriptions, while others would function as a Twitch daily recap section compiled of all of the best clips created that day. Pluto stated that he loved the new ideas, but confirmed that the existingTwitch stream clipsrecommendation system is currently functioning well.

Speaking on behalf of several live viewers while talking to Pluto, xQc emphasized how much viewers want to see top clips from their favorite streamers likexQc’s recent viral clip. “I don’t have time to watch all the streams. But I do have a little bit of time and I want a highlight reel of all the streamers I’m interested in or another section about what happened today on Twitch," said xQc. “What happened today in the realm of live content.”

The popular Twitch streamer is critical of clips that the platform thinks he’ll like and instead he wants to see the clips that a large majority of people like and clips that people are currently engaging with. The current Twitch clip recommendations mostly pick a small selection of recently created clips of a user’s followed streamers. This allows the content to be curated for Twitch viewers and their interests, but it limits how many new orpopular Twitch streamersa viewer can discover through clips.

Although xQc doesn’t work in the Twitch offices, he remains among the likes of Ninja, Sodapoppin, and Hasan Piker as some ofTwitch’s biggest streamersand as a result, he has one of the largest communities. Because of his connections at Twitch, it’s possible that xQc’s suggestions may become reality in the future, ushering in a whole new way that Twitch viewers watch content from their favorite streamers. While Pluto stated that the current clip system is working well, it’s unclear whenTwitchwould implement a new clip system like the one xQc suggests.
