Since Iron Gate AB launchedValheimin early access last year, survival game fans have been exploring the open-world Valhalla to success or failure, depending on the enemies they encounter. OneValheimfan has captured the moment a wolf dropped out of the sky before lunging at them with a powerful attack atop a mountain.
Reddit user Walruz_ recently posted a brief clip of their adventure inValheimin which they are trekking through the snow to climb a mountain, likely in an effort to gatherValheimresourcesoffered in the mountain biome like Silver. BecauseValheimplayers need to be equipped with Padded Armor to survive the freezing mountain biome, Walruz_ has likely progressed through the Stone Age and Iron Age to expand the crafting capabilities of their Workbench. Cold isn’t the only thing to worry about inValheim’s mountain biome, as Sons of Fenrir and Wolves spawn in the high altitude zones, and one appears out of nowhere in Walruz_’s video.

Walruz_‘sValheimclip begins with the player climbing a steep hill that leads to a flatter part of the mountain covered in a blanket of snow while snowflakes continue to fall. Within moments, the legs of a white wolf briefly appear at the top of the screen before the animal falls safely to the ground right next to Walruz_. Unable to react to the sudden enemy, Walruz_ is struck by one swift critical bite from the wolf that causes about one-third of a health bar’s worth of damage despite Walruz_’s equippedValheimarmor.
The wolf’s bite causes Walruz_ significant damage, and their stamina is already drained from trudging through the snow, but theclip concludes before either theValheimwolfor player is killed. Given Walruz_’s gear, theValheimplayer may have successfully fended off the suddenly spawning wolf if it is unable to connect with three more hits before Walruz_ can land an attack of their own. Because Walruz_ has only eaten Honey and Sausages in theValheimclip, the player may have quickly regenerated health by eating a piece of food that heals effectively, such as cooked serpent meat, fish wraps, or Lox meat pie.
Since posting theirValheimvideo, a few thousand players have expressed their entertainment by Walruz_ running into a freshly generated wolf during theirValheimmountainexpedition. With how fast it reacted to Walruz_’s presence after falling from the sky, someValheimplayers have dubbed the animal in this video anElden Ringwolf. While mostValheimfans reacting to Walruz_’s clip haven’t experienced a sudden attack from an air-dropped enemy, a handful of them stated that a similar occurrence has happened to them in the early access title.
