WhileCall of Duty: Warzoneremains very popular with players, especially in advance of the upcoming Caldera map next week, it has had its fair share of issues in the past. A big part of the struggle has been with hackers and cheaters, who have seemingly caused all sorts of chaos since the game originally launched early in 2020.Activision is confident that the Ricochet anti-cheat systemwill fully put an end to these longstanding struggles.
The other element toWarzone’s struggles have been with the various bugs, glitches, and issues that continue to pop up from time to time. While players have experienced the full range of problems from game breaking bugs like anunlimited revives issue on Rebirth Island, to more entertaining visual glitches like cars driving themselves. However, this latest player found visual bug may be the strangest one of all.

Over on theCall of Duty: WarzonesubReddit, a player known as nungoopungoo posted a video of a strange event they witnessed in a recent match. After dropping into Rebirth Island, the player looked up at what they thought was an incoming enemy player. However, from their perspective, it appeared that an eagle was soaring in, before transforming into a character upon landing on a nearby roof. While nungoopungoo takes a few shots, the enemy player disappears from view before they can be visibly identified.
Naturally, this has left viewers shocked and surprised, though the reason this is happening may be less fantastical than first believed. Some users indicated that this was a result of that player using theGhostface operator skin from the most recent Halloween event. With the character’s long flowing black outfit, the parachuting animation seemed to make it look like a giant bird flying in. Some players have expressed concerns that this visual glitch could give the skin a competitiver advantage, allowing it to better blend into the map and take unsuspecting players by surprise.
This may ring especially true next week when thenew Pacific oriented map Caldera takes over. Unlike Verdansk, Caldera features plenty of more trees and tropical areas where a bird-like skin may look more inconspicuous than in a more urban style zone. At this point, neither Raven Software or Activision have mentioned this as an issue or posted on the Trello board, but it’s possible this problem becomes a larger issue as Caldera takes over as theWarzonemap starting on December 8.
