Starfield’s Exploration Dilemma

Redditor prorules drew attention to the gap inStarfield’s exploration, pointing out the lack of asteroid stations throughout the game, as well as space places of interest in general. Everyone has their own ideas abouthowStarfield’s exploration could be made better, but this change would certainly compel players to give more attention to sections of the game, which, right now, plenty of players treat as glorified loading screens. Right now, space is used as a way to fast travel from one planet to the next, but the potential for more unique locations is huge.

One player in the thread did point out that the game actually has one asteroid station that appears during the Freestar Rangers questline. However, the existence of this one only makes the lack of them everywhere else all the more frustrating. If they exist in theStarfielduniverse, it would make sense for them to exist in numbers around the vast galaxy, with plenty of gameplay potential from this idea.Starfieldplayers are still making plenty of discoveries while exploring space, so it isn’t completely empty, but there’s a definite feeling that it could easily be better.

Hopefully, it can add a little more to theStarfieldexperience so that the game can finally feel like the grand RPG it was touted as pre-release. Bethesda could take a page out of CD Projekt Red’s book with the way the studio has managed to totally revitalizeCyberpunk 2077with the Phantom Liberty DLC. One thing is for sure - expanding on the space exploration mechanics would be a great place to start.
