Summary

OneStarfieldplayer with some formidable engineering skills has recreated the Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor stealth fighter jet in Bethesda’s space-faring RPG. Apart from impressing many a fan, their achievement also serves to further underline the immense capabilities of theStarfieldship builder.

Not a single quest in Bethesda’s latest role-playing game tasks the player with building their own spacecraft. But that’s precisely what countless fans captivated byStarfield’s incredibly complex ship customization mechanicshave been doing ever since the game hit the market in September.

The latest result of those ongoing community efforts comes from Reddit user Koonster, who managed to put together an impressive recreation of the Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor inStarfield. Their spacecraft is instantly evocative of the stealth fighter jet that’s been in service of the U.S. Air Force since 2005, not least because of its trapezoidal wings and tightly packed twin engines flanked by two pairs of horizontal and vertical stabilizers. Since ships inStarfieldhave no use for landing wheels, this custom design replaces that undercarriage with landing pads, but is otherwise extremely close to the classic appearance of the F-22 Raptor.

2 Starfield Mods Were Used in the Creation of This F-22 Raptor Replica

Elaborating on their achievement, the author of this F-22 Raptor replica explained that they had toturn toStarfieldmodsin order to realize their vision for the vessel. Specifically, since the module angles in the vanilla version of the RPG don’t lend themselves well to the F-22 Raptor shape, they made use of Ship Builder Tolerance Tweaks by NexusGuy999, which allows for much greater build variety by raising the game’s level of tolerance for overlapping ship parts.

The player also utilized the M Class Modules and Ship Builder Unlock mod from Nexus Mods user Troigi. This particular modification makes several major changes to theStarfieldship builder, but Koonster’s motivation for using it came down to the fact that it eliminates the built-in limitation that restricts all custom ships to 80 meters (262 feet) in length. Armed with those tweaks, the player was able to nail the proportions of the F-22 Raptor, which is 62 feet in length and has a 44.5-foot wingspan. Of course, since mostStarfieldship modules are fairly massive, the replica ended up being absolutely humongous, measuring at 176 x 122 meters, or 577 x 400 feet.

This impressive vessel is not the first custom ship inspired by Lockheed Martin’s iconic aircraft that the game’s fandom managed to construct to date; back in October, anotherStarfieldplayer offered their own unique take on the same fighter jetthat they dubbed the F-2200.
