Summary

ThoughStardew Valleyhas grown considerably since launch, players feel that its Spa remains a somewhat underutilized location compared to the rest of Pelican Town. One of the primary reasons whyStardew Valleyhas enjoyed its level of popularity is due to the charming world that its players get to explore and immerse themselves in. Whilefarming isStardew Valley’s primary focusin terms of character progression, discovering all the secret nooks and crannies of Pelican Town (and its immediate surroundings) is what makes it so addictive in between tending to one’s crops.

Mods such asStardew ValleyExpandedhave attempted to add even more content to Pelican Town, such as new villagers, locations, and even crops. However, official content certainly hasn’t shied away from doing the same, as Version 1.3 famously added a new community upgrade for the Carpenter’s Shop, introduced the Night Market event, and even brought multiplayer toStardew Valley. Version 1.5 went even a step further, adding a whole new location to the game with Ginger Island.

However, amid all this glow-up, oneStardew Valleylocation remained untouched: the Spa. Outside of serving as Linus' living area during winter, the Spa has only been used for one Penny Heart Event inStardew Valley, remaining practically abandoned otherwise, with no way of restoring it through the community center. This was pointed out by Avygade on the mainStardew Valleysubreddit, where it garnered support from other players who are hoping ConcernedApe takes another look at the location.

ThoughStardew Valley’s villagersalready have a complex schedule that changes based on the day of the week (as well as the season), Haley organizing a spa day with the other bachelorette candidates would be a great way to inject some life into a hypothetical fully-restored Spa. Moreover, a passionate athlete such as Alex could conceivably use the Spa’s gym to work out.

While there is certainly an argument to be made that the Spa would take too much away from Pelican Town’s already established NPC schedule, it’s understandable that some players are hoping that it becomes more than just a way to restore their energy in the early game. If ConcernedApe does decide to do something about it forStardew Valley’s upcoming Version 1.6, it would likely have to be carefully approached – similar to how the Movie Theater was introduced in Version 1.4. The release date for the nextStardew Valleyupdate remains a mystery, but with ConcernedApe teasing it since April 2023, it should hopefully launch sooner rather than later.
