Prior to theHigh Republicinitiative, theStar Warssaga was divided into three distinct eras known as the “Age of Republic,” “Age of Rebellion,” and “Age of Resistance.” Of course, theStar Warssaga has expanded since that time to include multiple television shows and written works, prompting Lucasfilm to expand its timeline to include six eras. Following the “High Republic” era is the “Fall of the Jedi” period, which consists of all films in theStar Warsprequel trilogy. Afterward,The Bad BatchandSolo: A Star Wars Storywill chronicle the “Reign of the Empire” period while “The Age of Rebellion” will be comprised ofRebels,Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and the original trilogy.Disney Plus’The Mandalorianis currently the sole entry within “The New Republic Era” while “The Rise of the First Order” period will be marked byResistanceand theStar Warssequel trilogy.

While the High Republic era has not been depicted on screen yet,Russian Dollco-creator Leslye Headland is currently developing a Disney Plus show for Lucasfilm that will be set towards the end of the prosperous period. During Disney’s Investor Day presentation, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy described Headland’s series, titledStar Wars: The Acolyte,as a mystery-thriller that will focus on the emergence of Dark Side powers. Further details on the series were not provided, though initial reports on the project stated it would be “female-centric.”

WhileThe Mandalorianremains the sole representative of the “New Republic Era,” Kennedy also announced a slate of projects that will be set during the same period. Among these projects will beStar Wars: Rangers of the New RepublicandAhsoka, two Disney Plus shows that will culminate with a crossover event alongsideThe Mandalorian.

However, one of the more anticipatedStar Wars shows for Disney Plus is the series centered onObi-Wan Kenobi. In addition to seeing Ewan McGregor reprise his role as the exiled Jedi Master,Obi-Wan Kenobiwill reunite the lead actor with former prequel trilogy co-starHayden Christensen as Darth Vader.
