Open for a limited time in the franchise’s home country of Japan, the pop-up store has a variety of newFinal Fantasyproducts and merchandise up for sale, most of which can only be purchased in the physical Parco pop-up shop or online store.The celebrations for the 35th anniversary ofFinal Fantasyseem to be bleeding over through 2023, even though the occasion’s official date was in 2022. With the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions getting lighter, it is not surprising for Square Enix to go full force with marketing efforts for its company’s biggest milestones. This includes hosting physical events for different series anniversaries in Japan such as theKingdom Hearts20th anniversary exhibit,Final Fantasy 725th anniversary themed cafe, and more. The pop-up shop is part of the company’s partnership with Japan brand PARCO, which is a series of stores across the country. In the posts, the photos showcased features of the area, including visuals made by popularFinal Fantasyseries artist Yoshitaka Amano. Though the posts are in Japanese, Google Translate will help fans understand the content of each tweet, especially the types of goods that can be purchased in the PARCO store.
According to the Twitter posts, the pop-up store will have a special music corner specifically for CDs of differentFinal Fantasymusic tracks. What’s more, many artbooks filled with concepts and design across the different games can also be purchased by the franchise’s fans. For those who prefer to shop online, these items can also be bought via PARCO’s official channels. However, some of the items have already been sold out online, due to their popularity. Hopefully Square Enix will restock some items, so more fans can have their ownFinal Fantasy35th anniversary-themed items.
Unfortunately, theFinal Fantasy 35th anniversarypop-up store will only be open in PARCO Shibuya until June 30, 2025. So interested visitors who are lucky enough to already be in Japan during the time frame should probably drop by soon.
