ASpider-Manmod adds Wolverine toSpider-Man Remasteredon PC. Thanks to the modding community, the world of Insomniac’sSpider-Mangame has opened up to other Marvel heroes.
Spider-Man Remasteredwas recently released on PC, and thanks to the creative individuals of the online modding community, Insomniac’sSpider-Manhas welcomed various additions to its world of characters, such as the ability to play as Kermit the Frog, Jesse Pinkman, DareDevil, and many more. Most recently, a mod was added for players to witnessSpider-Man Remasteredin first person mode. Other than having a different perspective, or characters of different IPs, players can also experience the game as another Marvel character.

The now available mod by Maraboe on NexusMods allowsSpider-Man Remasteredto be played as X-Men hero Wolverine. In the comics, Wolverine and Spider-Man have teamed up before, but in this case, Wolverine replaces Spider-Man altogether. The mod replaces an already existing spider suit, the Bombastic Bag-man Suit, with a new suit that replicates Wolverine’s appearance. In the photos provided by Maraboe, Wolverine can be seen shooting webs out of his claw-like hands to traverse New York City. Wolverine is also shown fighting in the same style as Spider-Man, insinuating that this is just a suit with no special powers unique to the clawed hero. Even so, this exciting Wolverine mod will be sure to tide players over untilInsomniac’sWolverinegamereleases.
Maraboe also offers a mod available for Wolverine to be played while infused with the Venom symbiote, which replaces the already existing Scarlet II suit. This modded suit might explain why Wolverine can shoot webs out of his hands, assuming that the symbiote had already infused Spider-Man before Wolverine. The symbiote suit is a great addition for players that desire a potential reason for the mod to make sense within the context of the Marvel Universe. Even though the mod is a great addition toSpider-Man Remastered, players should not expect it to be an inclination of what’s to come regarding Insomniac’s next Marvel game, asWolverineis suspected to be different fromSpider-Man. Since both characters lend themselves to different stories, overall characters, and tone, the differences are sure to reflect dramatically in terms of gameplay and mechanics.
For those wanting more of the Marvel mutant hero before the marketing push for the Insomniac game begins, theShe-Hulkseries had a Wolverine easter egg. Between theSpider-Manmod, the MCU, and Insomniac’s upcomingWolverinegame, there is plenty of this character to look forward to in the medium of storytelling that exists outside of comics in the months to come.
