More than eleven years afterSkyrim’s release, one would think that most longtimeSkyrimfans have seen everything it has to offer. However, every once in a while, the game still does something to surprise them. This happened to Reddit user CyberBTW during what should have been a routine Dragon encounter. TheSkyrimplayer seemed to have the Dragon on the ropes when it unleashed a powerful Unrelenting Force Shout that sent the Dragonborn flying. The Shout Was powerful enough that it not only threw them off the hill they were fighting on but sent the Dovahkiin flying clear across a river.

Fus Ro Dah, or Unrelenting Force, isSkyrim’s most iconic Dragon Shout. It was the first one players heard, with the Dragonborn using it inSkyrim’s official trailer. Additionally, Unrelenting Force is most likely to be the first Shout players unlock and often the first one they learn all three words for. The Shout’s also known for its ability to send NPC’s flying when fully upgraded, and it’s rare to find aSkyrimplayer who hasn’t used it to hurl a follower or passing goat off The Throat of the World at least once.

Of course, The Dragonborn isn’t the onlySkyrimcharacter that uses Unrelenting Force, with Ulfric Stormcloak and some of the more powerful Draugr also knowing the words. However, apart from a few named bosses, most Dragons don’t normally use it. Some mods allow Dragons to use Shouts that wouldn’t normally be available to them, but it’s unclear whether CyberBTW was using them. Either way, it’s a rare case of the Dragonborn getting a taste of his own medicine.
