As soon as the list surfaced online, fans could not help but notice the title ‘Fire Made Flesh,’ which might be a reference to theiconicX-Mencharacter, Phoenix. In Season 3 of the classic animated series, Jean Grey, who was reborn as Phoenix, said, “The mortal Jean Grey is no more. I am fire-made flesh, power incarnate. I am… the Dark Phoenix.” The aforementioned character was featured in the 2019 film,Dark Phoenix, which starred Sophie Turner in the titular role. The movie was panned by the critics as well as audiences and made $252.4 million on a production budget of $200 million. It would be interesting to see if Marvel gets the Phoenix saga right this time around.
