Amand has stated that General Manager mode is 100% coming with the release ofWWE 2K22. The General Manager game mode hasn’t made an appearance in a WWE game since one of the finalSmackdown vs. Rawtitles, leaving fans of the mode waiting for several years. Fans have requested General Manager mode for nearly as long as it has been missing and it has been at the top of most fan request polls.
WWE fans who aren’t privy to the General Manager game mode may have a new favourite mode to explore withWWE 2K22. Players are able to create matches with their favourite WWE athletes, decide which of them is worthy of the title, and create entertaining storylines. Filling aWWE pay-per-viewcard and booking the week-to-week TV shows are just a couple of the major decisions players will make in General Manager mode if it does in fact come toWWE 2K22.
WWE Survivor Series and Royal Rumble are both part of the big four annual pay-per-views that play a pivotal role in WWE’s storytelling. Survivor Series has traditionally taken place during the Thanksgiving weekend, while theRoyale Rumblestarts the year off with big matches. Survivor Series brings allies and villains from each WWE show together in a battle to claim brand supremacy and the winner of the Royal Rumble typically goes on to face-off against the WWE or Universal Champion at Wrestlemania.
WWE 2K22is set to release in March, but Visual Concepts has been quiet about theGeneral Manager mode. What the developers have shown off so far looks like an improvement fromWWE 2K20as the graphics are noticeably better compared to the last installation in the series. Considering how glitch and bug-ladenWWE 2K20was, it’s likely that the developers are focusing on performance as well as visuals.
