WB Games Montreal is a studio with a story to tell. Over the past several years, leaks have hinted at several WB Game Montreal projects that have been canceled, often including concept art and gameplay details. Now, WB Games Montreal is prepped to launch its next game,Gotham Knights, yet leaked information continues to be spread. The latest example comes from a current WB Games Montreal artist who listed a separate project ongoing during the development ofGotham Knights.
Before anyone leaps to an incorrect assumption, there’s no indication that WB Games Montreal has moved on from thedevelopment ofGotham Knightsor is undercutting it before it’s launched. Rather, Senior Artist Megan Berry listed a mysterious project on her LinkedIn experience timeline alongside her work onGotham Knights. Berry served as a “co-founder” of this project, as well as its art director, helping to co-design its features and core gameplay pillars.

Berry does not elaborate on the nature of this project, providing no information regarding what kind of game it is or whether it’s related toWB Games Montreal’s DC Comics projects. She does mention, however, that she worked with “remote teams on a demo.” Since Berry was the art director for the project, this likely means it was an art demo or video, rather than a playable demo. It still goes to show that the project moved forward to a point where it could likely be pitched as something larger.
The last key detail of Berry’s listing is that it has an end date. Berry lists her time with the project as between September 2019 and June 2021. That could mean multiple things. It could mean that Berry moved away from the project, it could mean the project was canceled, or it could mean that it’s in limbo whileWB Games Montrealfinishes its work onGotham Knights.
There’s nothing abnormal about the situation, of course. It’s routine forteams of game developersto start working on pre-production for potential new projects as their work on the current game decreases. That way, the team can segue into a new game after the old game launches.
Nevertheless, there are plenty of DC Comics fans anxious to hear about what project WB Games Montreal could be working on next. Perhaps it’s that long-rumoredSupermangame, thecanceledDamianBatmanprojectresurrected, or something else entirely. For the time being, WB Games Montreal remains focused onGotham Knights, and hopefully, it’s everything fans want, too.
