Rocket League’s free-to-play update this summer was one of the biggest yet for the massively popular multiplayer cars-meets-soccer game. And with this huge update came a lot of big changes, including the introduction of seasons, aRocket League-styled battle pass ripe with rewards, and more.

With so many changes, it’s no surprise that the game began to experience its fair share ofissues and bugs upon the release of the large update.One bug in particular however, completely removed a feature of the game from the Nintendo Switch version and has yet to be fixed.

Ever sinceRocket Leaguewent free-to-play on September 23rd, players of the game on Nintendo Switch have been completely unable to play the game in its split-screen multiplayer mode. And although Psyonix announced thata fix for the bug was in the worksas soon as players reached out about it, it seems that the feature-removing bug will finally be fixed with the release ofRocket League’s 2nd in-game season.

Official confirmation on when the bug will be fixed came on December 1st in the form of a Reddit reply by a Psyonix Community Manager on a post detailing theupcoming features ofRocket LeagueSeason 2.Additionally, one Reddit user inquired as to whether they could expect split-screen multiplayer to make a return on Nintendo Switch come Season 2, to which the Psyonix Community Manager reassured that it would, nearly 3 months after the strange disappearance of the feature.

The move to makeRocket Leaguefree-to-play was incredibly successful,helping the game reach one million concurrent playersjust one day after it went free-to-play. The game is just one of a now plethora of free-to-play titles available on a variety of platforms, joining the ranks of battle royale blockbusters such asFortnite,Apex Legends,Call of Duty: Warzone, and more. AlthoughRocket Leaguehas now been around for over 5 years, it has managed to keep a steady player base with its eSports-oriented gameplay and regular releases of new content.

While the game has alreadymade the jump to next-gen consoles,players of the game on Nintendo Switch can rest assured that they’ll be able to hand off a joy-con to their player 2 of choice once again very soon. For the time being, fans of the game eagerly await to see what surprises Season 2 ofRocket Leaguemight hold in store when it releases on December 9th.
