Not only does it allow players to play games, but it also gives them the tools necessary to make their own playable creations. Unsurprisingly, talented gamers have used this robust creation tool to design ever more impressive games and animations. Recently, one person decided to useDreamsto recreate aterrifying monster fromReturnal, a PS5-exclusive roguelike from 2021.In a tweet from January 19, a gamer known as BadRobo82 shared a video of a recent creation they made inDreams. Using the creation software, they recreatedan Archonact fromReturnal,and the results were nothing short of stunning. In the video, the creature hovered a few feet above the ground. It had massive tentacles along with several eerie orange lights emanating from a large rectangular head. After a brief moment, the Archonact let out a disturbing sound as the lights on its face flickered on and off in quick succession. Amazingly, the Archonact fromReturnalwas made using only a controller and copy ofDreamsrunning on aPS5 through backwards compatibility. In addition, no premade assets were used in the making of the Archonact. According to BadRobo82, everything seen in the video was made by them. While the creator revealed that they had no experience working with graphics programs, they noted that they had a background in traditional art.
Unsurprisingly, many fans thought that the creation looked impressive. Since posting the clip on Twitter, numerous people commented on the terrifying design of the Archonact. In addition, some thought the light rays made the scene look even better. Furthermore, others hoped that a next-gen update forDreamswould come to PS5 in the future, bringing more features for talented artists to take advantage of in their work.
Needless to say, seeing fans design these types of impressive creations inDreamson PS4 and PS5 is astounding. However, this Archonact is far from the only masterpiece made in the software. Recently, another fan recreated theT-Rex fromJurassic Parkwith an impressive amount of detail. As more players find out about the power of this creation tool, it will be interesting to see what other stunning creations are shared with the gaming community in the days ahead.
