The 1.004 update for theResident Evil 4remake is causing some problems for Xbox players who feel like the graphics have been downgraded. TheResident Evil 4remake has earned rave reviews from criticsand has been an instant sales success for Capcom. Capcom is looking to keep the momentum going strong by supporting the game with updates, the latest of which is available to download now.Resident Evil 4Update 1.004 is available to download now across all platforms. The headlining new addition in the update isThe Mercenaries game mode. The Mercenaries is a fan favorite mode that originated in the 2005Resident Evil 4game as a bonus players could unlock for completing the story. The Mercenaries was sadly absent from theResident Evil 4remake at launch, but fans can check it out for free after downloading the latest update.RELATED:Resident Evil 4 Remake Player Finds Interesting Luis Serra Easter EggBesides adding The Mercenaries mode to theResident Evil 4remake, the new update has also fixed thePS5 flickering light issue. It also addresses the dead zone problems with the Xbox version of theResident Evil 4remake, as well as “adjusted graphics rendering processes, resulting in improved game framerates.” But as pointed out by Pure Xbox, some Xbox gamers have discovered that the graphics have seemingly been downgraded for some players as a result of the patch, so hopefully that’s addressed in a future update.
So far, the latest update for theResident Evil 4remake has proven to be surprisingly controversial. While many fans are happy to see The Mercenaries make its return, there are those who are sad that it’s missing characters like Ada Wong and Albert Wesker, despite the fact that they were playable in previous versions of the mode. Others are upset about thenew microtransactions added to theResident Evil 4remakeas part of the update, as it allows players to spend real money to upgrade their guns in-game.
It’s possible that future updates for theResident Evil 4remake will address the graphics issues on Xbox, add the missing Mercenaries characters, and potentially add even more content to the game. As it stands,Assignment Ada and the Separate Ways campaign are both missing from theResident Evil 4remakeas well. Capcom has not announced any plans to add those bonus modes to the game like it did with The Mercenaries, but leaks have suggested that they are on their way. It’s possible they will come as paid DLC instead of part of a free update, though, so fans should certainly keep that in mind.
