Where To Find The Insignia Key In The RE4 Remake

Players won’t be able to snag the Insignia Keyuntil they make it to Chapter 2. After finding Luis for the first time, players will be captured and sent to an abandoned factory. After escaping, Leon will meet the Merchant for the first time and then continue his journey through the area. Eventually, players will arrive at the Village Chieftan’s House. Inside, Leon will need to solve a small puzzle to open a combination lock on a cabinet and then use the item to open a locked door at the top of the stairs. Inside this bedroom, in the drawer of a nearby desk, players will find the Insignia Key.

What Does The Insignia Key Unlock In The RE4 Remake?

There are three doors that players can open using the Insignia Key. The first one they will have access to is the gate outside the Village Chieftan’s house at the start of Chapter 3. Opening this gate is required to progress the main story.

The second door that requires the Insignia Key is the door to the Town Hall. It is located in the middle of the villageduring Chapter 3. As players enter the village nad go near the Town Hall, an explosion will cause a nearby tower to collapse. Once Leon deals with the dangers and navigates around the rubble, he will be able to use the Key on the Insignia Door and enter through the Town Hall to access deeper parts of the village, as well as the Quarry and Lake.

The final door is optional and not required for story progression but does unlock access to some useful things. To reach it, players will need to head all the way through the Quarry and Fish Farm, then finally dispatch the menacing water-based boss Del Lago.At the start of Chapter 4, players will gain access to a boat that Leon can use to travel to multiple areas across the lake. If players head to the dock to the Northwest, and then North from the dock itself, they’ll spot another Insignia Door (one they likely spotted when progressingthrough Chapter 1). Unlocking this door will give players access to a fishing-based Request, and leads to the Forest Altar, which includes a couple of items.
