Last year, Capcom surprisedResident Evilfans when it announced the upcoming remake ofResident Evil 3atSony’s State of Play presentation. Now, players who are interested in pre-purchasing the remake for the PS4 and Xbox One should be happy to know that a deal is currently available that allows players to pre-order the game for a cheaper price.
Currently, Amazon and Walmart are offeringResident Evil 3for consoles for only $49.94, which is 17% off its original list price of $59.99. This deal was also made available for the PC viaGreen Man Gaming’s Lunar Sale, which reduced the price of the game to $47.39. All pre-orders ofResident Evil 3will reward players with a DLC costume pack that allowing them to switch Jill Valentine and Carlos Oliveria’s default outfits to their original counterparts from the 1999 game.

Best Buy is also offering a good deal for the pre-order ofResident Evil 3. While Best Buy’s deal doesn’t reduce the game’s price, which is still at $59.99, the retailer will reward players whopre-order with a free SteelBook casefeaturing the game’s official artwork. It is currently unknown how long all of these deals forResident Evil 3will last, so players interested should pre-order now while the discounts and bonuses are still available.
Meanwhile, Capcom recently confirmed that the remake ofResident Evil 3will be bringing back the sliding wormsfrom the original game. To those who don’t remember, these worms are the creepy creatures that pounce on their victims to suck their blood. Of course, the existence of these worms in the remake likely confirms that the Grave Digger, which is the giant version of the sliding worms, will also be available in the upcoming game, though Capcom hasn’t officially announced this.
The Japanese developer and publisher also revealed that the story ofResident Evil Resistanceis not canon.To those unfamiliar,Resident Evil Resistanceis the 4v1 multiplayer game that will be included withResident Evil 3. In an interview with the Official PlayStation Magazine, producer Peter Fabiano explained that Resistance is just “a fun online experience with connections to the RE universe.” The developer also suggested thatResident Evil Resistanceis just like any other mini-games bundled with a mainResident Eviltitle, such as The Mercenaries: Operation Mad Jackal, which was included in the originalResident Evil 3.
