Red Dead Redemption 2fans are surprised and amused at a restaurant sign utilizing Arthur Morgan to sell chicken. It’s one of the latest instances ofArthur Morgan’s likenessbeing used to advertise or sell products unofficially.
Despite copyright rules, Arthur Morgan and otherRed Dead Redemptionassets have shown up in numerous places all over the world in an effort to market products or attract customers. Fans of the series have previously spottedRed Dead Redemptionrestaurant muralsrecreating some of the game’s iconic art, while John Marston has even been spotted on shoe boxes. WithRed Dead Redemption 2being such an iconic game at this point, it seems that some can’t resist using it to peddle their wares.

In this particular case, an image has come to light with an amusing sign for a taqueria and carniceria. On the store sign above the entrance, the iconic image of Arthur Morgan pointing his gun from the cover ofRed Dead Redemption 2has been utilized, but his gun has been replaced with a chicken leg. The image fits in well with the general western-themed imagery on the sign, though clearly, this sign could get the business owner in a considerable amount of trouble, should Take-Two Interactive choose to challenge it legally.
Unfortunately, it’s not entirely clear where exactly this restaurant is located, nor if the sign is still present. However, the image is getting a lot of attention, with even the officialKFCSpanish Twitter account sharing the image, joking that its competition is strong. Fans have made plenty of jokes about it as well, comparing it to Arthur’s voice actor asking if someone likes and wants some jelly beans, or donating to the camp so that they can afford to buy fried chicken.
While using likenesses without permission may be a bad idea, it’s evident thatRed Dead Redemption 2is loved by gamers all over the world. Of course, not everyone will recognize Arthur peddling chicken on a store sign. However, the team at Rockstar Games did a great job bringing the old west to life, and it seems that’s leading some designers to use its intellectual property when going for a western or cowboy theme. With rumors of aRed Dead Redemptionremasterbeing in the works, even more gamers may end up being introduced to its world, and more signs and murals like this one may pop up as a result.
