The alleged theft of rarePokemoncards has caused concern among players, leading to hesitancy in purchasing cards. The theft is just the latest scandal to rock the TCG community. For instance, in March there was atheft ofPokemoncards and collectibles worth over $1 million.

Over the weekend, information about the alleged theft leaked from the private Pokemon World Facebook group and onto Reddit. On r/PokemonTCG, a picture of stacks of expensiveFusion Strikecards covering a table grabbed a lot of attention. It is still unclear who was involved in the allegedPokemon TCGtheft. “If anyone wants to know whyFusion Strikehad no hits, it turns out that a printing facility employee stole all the hits, which are shown below, and tried to sell them to TCW,” said one user.
Many fans believed thePokemon TCGsetin the posts which featured hundreds ofSword & Shield Fusion Strikeexpansion cards, were being taken straight from a manufacturing plant. According to the post, a printing company employee allegedly stole the hits from production and tried to sell them to local gaming stores. The alleged theft has reportedly had a significant detrimental effect on theFusion Strikepull rates.
Some have speculated that the stolen rare cards have caused an imbalance in the distribution of cards, making it harder for players to get their hands onrarePokemoncards. However, the Facebook post was deleted and a Reddit comment says to not jump to outrage when no details are confirmed. The comment also mentioned to take a moment to think how these cards could be removed during the production process.
Recently, aGameStop employee was accused of stealingPokemoncardsand it was caught on surveillance camera, so if the incident really happened there would be more proof to come. Although it is still unclear whether the alleged theft actually happened, the damage has already been done as many fans are now questioning the legitimacy of theFusion Strikeexpansion and its distribution.
The Pokemon Company has yet to issue a statement regarding the alleged theft. However, the company has been vocal about its commitment to ensuring the integrity of the game and protecting the interests of its players.
