Pokemon SwordandPokemon Shield’s post-launch support from Game Freak is continuing into this holiday weekend. April 12 is Easter and while there won’t be any Easter bunny or egg decorations in the Galar region,Pokemon SwordandShieldplayers will get the next best thing. Game Freak and Nintendo will be introducing a new series of Max Raid Battle opportunities. For players looking to catch a few baby Pokemon, or perhaps a high IV Ditto, the Easter event is worth checking out.
Pokemon that will be available during theMax Raid BattleEaster event include the following: inPokemon Sword, there’s Bonsly, Budew, Charmander, Charmeleon, Charizard, Cleffa, Copperajah, Cufant, Ditto, Duraludon, Mantyke, Mime Jr., Munchlax, Pichu, Riolu, Togepi, Toxel, Trubbish, Tyrogue, and Wynaut; inPokemon Shield, add Garbodor and remove Copperajah. That should be more than enough baby Pokemon to keep players busy all weekend.

What’s really driving excitement for thePokemon SwordandShieldEaster event are the breeding opportunities. Specifically, the high-roll nature of Ditto. According to reports, all Max Raid Battle Dittos will have at least 5 IVs. There’s also a 1/32 chance of getting a6 IV Ditto, a so-called perfect Ditto. It’s not going to be easy to find a perfect Ditto, but it’s still an opportunity where there wasn’t one before.
Alongside the baby Pokemon, Game Freak is giving away certain breeding items as rewards for Max Raid Battles, too. Items likeBoiled Eggs, Lucky Eggs, Everstones, and Destiny Knotswill drop alongside certain baby Pokemon.
ThePokemon SwordandShieldevent is live right now and will last through April 15, extending well beyond Easter. That should giveEaster celebratorsand Pokemon breeders at least a chance to collect the Pokemon they’re looking for.
Considering the bulk of the players still spending time withPokemon SwordandShieldright now are its most dedicated fans, this Easter event makes perfect sense. It allows Pokemon breeders the opportunity to pick up some Dittos or other Pokemon that’ll be useful.
