Game Freak is keeping the ball rolling in terms of special events inPokemon Scarlet & Violet. The reveal confirmed speculation thatGreninja was coming to Paldea. But as with other seven-star raid bosses, Greninja isn’t going to be an easy Pokemon to add to the player’s collection. Players will need to take Greninja down while navigating a unique set of moves.
When is the 7-Star Greninja Raid Event Coming in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet?
As with previous seven-star Tera Raid events, Greninja will be appearing daily from Friday to Sunday across two weekends. The exact dates and times were confirmed on the official Japanese site forPokemon.
The event will follow the same format as previous seven-star raid events. After signing onto the internet, once the event starts, players will have one special black Tera Crystal appear in their game each real-life day. Players who conquer this raid while inviting in extra help will receive bonus rewards.

Players can only catch one Greninja per save file across both weekends in this event. However, the Greninja captured during this event will be able tobreed with other Pokemon, allowing players to shiny hunt Greninja and add its lower forms to their collection.
Lucario and Bronzong Featured Alongside Lucario
The seven-star Tera Raid events also feature other Pokemon. As with Cinderace being featured alongside Gyarados and Gengar, Lucario and Bronzong will be joining Greninja.
Lucario and Bronzong will be featured in four and five-star raids during the course of the event, allowing players to add two potential counters to Mightiest Mark Greninja. These Pokemon will have an assortment of Tera Types, allowing players to find one that suits their tastes.
Though Lucario may be a viable counter to Greninja, fans ought to hold off on raising Bronzong. Greninja remains a water-dark type, meaning it will be able to hit Bronzong for super-effective damage if it uses moves like Dark Pulse or Night Slash.
How to Get Froakie and Frogadier
After catching Greninja, players will be able to use the Pokemon for breeding. This allows them to either breed for the purposes of shiny hunting or breed down thePokemon’s perfect IVs to Pokemon of different species. Greninja has the ability to produce Froakie eggs whenpaired with a Ditto, with Froakie evolving to Frogadier at level 16.
There have been limits on online functionality with Pokemon caught in seven-star Tera Raid events in the past. Players who miss out on the event may have to wait before trading for one of these Pokemon.
