Since the introduction ofAlolan forms inPokemon Sun&Moon, regional variations have become fairly common in some of the more recentPokemongames. Unlike shiny Pokemon though — which are effectively just palette swaps — these unique variations feature brand-new designs and typically change the Pokemon’s type as well.Pokemon Legends: Arceuscontinues this newfound tradition, with the open-world adventure introducing Hisuian Pokemon to the franchise.

With 17 of them scattered throughoutPokemon Legends: Arceusin total, there aren’t quite as many Hisuian Pokemon as there are Galarian (19) and Alolan (18) forms. Even so, the new typings that are on offer are all pretty interesting and some of the revised designs are fantastic too. Those hoping to catch all of the Hisuian Pokemon inLegends: Arceusare going to have their work cut out for them, however, as some can be a little tricky to find.
Hisuian Decidueye
Hisuian Growlithe
Hisuian Growlithe was one of the very first new regional Pokemon to be revealed followingthe announcement ofLegends: Arceus. It’s a Fire / Rock-type Pokemon with strong physical and special attack stats, though falls a little short in both the speed and defense departments.
Where to Get Hisuian Growlithe
Players can catch Hisuian Growlithe in the Windbreak Stand and Veilstone Cape areas of the Cobalt Coastlands.
Hisuian Arcanine
Hisuian Arcanine is one of the best Pokemon inLegends: Arceusdue to its strength as a physical attacker. Like Hisuian Growlithe, it’s a Fire / Rock-type Pokemon, which makes it an excellent counter for Flying, Fairy, and Normal-types as well asother Fire-type Pokemon.
Where to Get Hisuian Arcanine
Hisuian Arcanine evolves from Hisuian Growlithe when exposed to a Fire Stone.
Hisuian Voltorb
Hisuian Voltorb’s design may be a little lackluster and its stats aren’t all that great either, but it being an Electric / Grass-type can certainly have its advantages. It’s particularly effective against Ground andWater-type Pokemon, making it useful for the early stages of the game.
Where to Get Hisuian Voltorb
Players can catch Hisuian Voltorb in the Sacred Plaza area of the Coronet Highlands.
Hisuian Electrode
Hisuian Electrode’s biggest strength is its speed, though it does boast fairly respectable special attack and special defense stats as well. Like its unevolved form, it’s weak against Fire andIce-type attacks, though makes up for this somewhat with its strong resistances to other popular types.
Where to Get Hisuian Electrode
Hisuian Electrode evolves from Hisuian Voltorb when exposed to a Leaf Stone.
Hisuian Typhlosion
Though some have criticized the quality of its in-game model, few will be disappointed with the attacking potential of Hisuian Typhlosion. The Fire / Ghost-type Pokemon is a strong special attacker with respectable speed and decent defenses to boot. It is worth noting that Hisuian Arcanine is arguablya better choice for those seeking a fire-type, but not by much.
Where to Get Hisuian Typhlosion
Hisuian Typhlosion evolves from Quilava at Level 36. Its unevolved forms can be found in space-time distortions once players have completed the main story.
Hisuian Qwilfish
Hisuian Qwilfish swaps out its Water typing for Dark, making it the sixth Dark / Poison-type Pokemon to date. It’s not a bad physical attacker early on and its Poison Point ability can come in useful at times too. It later evolves into Overqwil, becoming an even better physical attacker in the process.
Where to Get Hisuian Qwilfish
Players can catch Hisuian Qwilfish in the Ramanas Island area of the Obsidian Fieldlands. It also shows up in multiple areas in the Cobalt Coastlands region.
Hisuian Sneasel
Like Qwilfish, Sneasel is one of the biggest winners ofLegends: Arceus; receiving both a new evolution and a regional form in the game. Hisuian Sneasel is a Poison /Fighting-type Pokemonwith solid speed and physical attack stats. Its evolution, Sneasler, really excels in these departments, making ita great addition to any Pokemon team.
Where to Get Hisuian Sneasel
Players can catch Hisuian Sneasel near the small body of water southwest of the Primeval Grotto area of the Coronet Highlands.
Hisuian Samurott
Hisuian Samurott is the weakest of the three fully evolvedstarter Pokemon inLegends: Arceus, with its base stat total being lower than both Hisuian Typhlosion and Hisuian Decidueye. It’s still a pretty decent attacker though, and a solid choice for anyone looking for a strong Water / Dark-type Pokemon for their team.
Where to Get Hisuian Samurott
Hisuian Samurott evolves from Dewott at Level 36. Its unevolved forms can be found in space-time distortions once players have completed the main story.
Hisuian Lilligant
As a Grass / Fighting type, Hisuian Lilligant boasts some incredibly useful resistances, though will still struggle against Flying-types. Its stats are fairly unexceptional for the most part, although it is slightly above average in both the speed and attack departments.
Where to Get Hisuian Lilligant
Hisuian Lilligant evolves from Petilil when exposed to a Sun Stone. Players can catch Petilil in the Cottonsedge Prarie area in the Crimson Mirelands.
