Pokemon GO’s2020 events are off to an exciting start and trainers are currently taking advantage of the bonuses and features ofthe Lunar New Year festivities. As promised, this even puts red Pokemon in the spotlight when it comes to spawns, battle raids, and even Egg hatches.
Trainers may already be booking travel plans for the upcoming2020 live PoGO events around the world, but there’s a Lunar New Year event to work through first. The event brings some new and different creatures to thePokemon GO7km Egg pool, so many players are currently deciding whether this batch is worth burning through some incubators for.

In general, the Lunar New Year Pokemon in 7km Eggs do not include anyparticularly exciting metagame options. There are some Pokemon with shiny versions and a few that may be a new Pokedex entry for some players, but in general these Pokemon aren’t going to be particularly worth spending any extra incubators on for metagame purposes.
So far, the following Pokemon have been confirmed for the event 7km Egg pool…
Darumaka
Riolu
Riolu and Darumaka are likely the most exciting inclusions for many players, but the chance to pick upanother shiny Magikarpis always exciting. Wurmple and Shuckle seem like the worst options here, despite the fact that they both have a change to be shiny. That may be enough motivation for some players, but in general those are pretty unpopular options.
Although the Egg pool isn’t very exciting, that doesn’t mean the whole event is a bust. There are other bonuses available that make playing this week a bit more enticing.
