During this short, one-hour-long window, players will be able to witness a big increase in the amount of wild Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan that they encounter in the wild, providing a solid opportunity to fill spaces in the Pokedex, search for a strong Hitmonlee or Hitmonchan with stats worthy of PvP and PvE battles, or perhaps even try your luck in securinga shiny variant of either Pokemon.
In addition to both Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee appearing much more frequently in the wild, there is also the Spotlight Hour event bonus of2x Transfer Candy. This means that any Pokemon that you transfer within the Spotlight Hour timeframe will receivetwice the amount of Candyas a reward. To best maximize the benefit from this perk, it’s a good idea to hold off on evolving any Pokemon until the event begins, as this way, you will be able to double up on the rewards you would have already been receiving.
As a final perk of this event, bothHitmonlee and Hitmonchanhave shiny variants obtainable as wild encounters inPokemon GO.
