AlthoughPokemon GO’sevent calendar is currentlyoverwhelmed with Celebration Weeksthat are throwing it back to each generation that has been released in the mobile AR game, Niantic is still finding time to drop even more in-game events and content for the community.
The most recently announced event includes an exciting bonus and the appearance of abrand new Mega Evolutionnext week. The Incense Day event is scheduled for January 24 andPokemon GOplayers will have just a few hours to enjoy some very enticing increased spawns along with the bonuses and features.

Throughout the day,PoGOtrainers will be able to run into an increased number Electic- and Dragon-type Pokemon at specific hours. Dragon-types in particular are fairly rare in the game andthe Dragon badgeis one that many players may still need to make some progress on. That means that players won’t want to miss these opportunities to rack up catches when the event kicks off.
Mega Ampharos Release Date
Mega Ampharos will be coming to Mega Raids beginning on Tuesday, Aug 02, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. local time.
Incense Event Date and Time
Sunday, July 08, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time
Event Features and Bonuses
“During this event, Incense will attract more Mareep, and you could even encounter a Shiny Mareep if you’re lucky! Evolve Flaaffy (the evolved form of Mareep) during the event to get an Ampharos that knows the previously Community Day–exclusive attack Dragon Pulse! An event-exclusive 1 PokéCoin bundle featuring three Incense will also be available to pick up in the shop.”
Electric-type hour increased incense spawns
Pikachu, Magnemite, Voltorb, Chinchou, Mareep, Plusle, and Minun. If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Stunfisk!
Dragon-type hour increased incense spawns
During Dragon-type hours, Dragon-type Pokémon and Pokémon that evolve into Dragon-type Pokémon will be attracted to Incense, including Horsea, Dratini, Mareep, Trapinch, Vibrava, and Swablu. If you’re lucky, you could encounter a Bagon!
Incense bonus schedule
From 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.: Electric-type Pokémon
From 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.: Dragon-type Pokémon and Pokémon that evolve into Dragon-type Pokémon
From 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.: Electric-type Pokémon
From 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.: Dragon-type Pokémon and Pokémon that evolve into Dragon-type Pokémon
Overall, the event offers some very exciting possibilities and players have plenty of reasons to login for at least a portion of the six hour window and secure some encounters with powerful Electric-types and Dragon-types (or Pokemon that evolve into Dragon-types. The additional catch bonus for earning the higher levels of the Dragon badge is well worth the effort and players who haven’t managed that feat already should definitely use this opportunity to close in on the goal.
As trainers continue working through these amazing Celebration events and enjoying the new era of the GO Beyond update as they count down to the next season, they may want to keep hunting downthe best Unova Pokemon in the gameif improving their Battle Raid rosters and completing their Pokedex is their primary goal.
