APokemon Scarlet and Violetfan has created convergent forms for Wiglett and Diglett that are quite intriguing. Fans have come up with creative ideas for various species inPokemon Scarlet and Violet, giving them new and enhanced abilities with interesting backstories.
Artists have createdconvergent forms for various Pokemon, such as Venonat, Zubat, Golbat, Crobat, and several others.

Pokemonfan Matratzfratz recently took to Reddit and shared their art on thePokemonsubreddit. The image shows a convergent form of Wiglett and Diglett, which are Water and Ground-type Pokemon, respectively. Diglett is a Generation 1 Pokemon that spends most of its time under the ground and only pops up when needed. Many argue thatWiglett is a regional variant of Diglett, but that isn’t the case. Wiglett is a Water-type Pokemon introduced in Generation 9. Although its eyes and nose are similar to Diglett’s, Wiglett has a long, white body.
In the Reddit post shared by Matratzfratz, there are two convergent forms of Diglett and Wiglett. Both of them have a deep purple body with yellow eyes and a black nose, instead of the black-and-white eyes and pink nose that both these Pokemon have in their original forms. The Redditor has based these forms on an “oil type,” dubbing them “Driplett” and “Fountrio.” Driplett has a shorter body, and there appears to be a purple-colored puddle around its body. On the other hand, Fountrio has a longer body and three identical heads pointing in different directions. The oil type is one of the manyPokemon types conceived by fans.
An earlier Reddit post by sdrey explains the concept of convergent evolution by taking Wiglett as an example. It explains how the two Pokemon evolved from different ancestors, which is why they are different species. Diglett evolves into Dugtrio, whileWiglett evolves into Wugtrio. Since they have a similar evolution path, they have similar appearances as well.
Aside from the convergent evolution concept,Pokemon Scarlet and Violetplayers have also been experimenting withParadox forms of Diglett and Dugtrio, as well as Raikou, Mewtwo, Flygon, Breloom, and many other Pokemon.
