Fans are treated to a new trailer ofPersona 3 Reloadthat gives more details about its gameplay and party members. ThisPersona 3remake was first announced during the Xbox Games Showcase, touting it will be a complete overhaul of the original game. This includes adding more modernized features and fixes that would bring the game closer to games likePersona 5. Atlus was quick to reveal that the game would be arriving in early 2024, along with promising several bits of information throughout the year to hype fans up about its release.

Atlus declared these increment updates forPersona 3 Reloadwould be announced every full moon, which is roughly once a month. This ties intoPersona 3’s imagery, themes, and relevance of the moon within its plot. The infamous Tartarus would create powerful shadows during a Full Moon that would need to be defeated, which in-universe is dubbed as the “Full Moon” operation. July 3rd had a full moon, which also fell on the same schedule as Anime Expo, which is where a new trailer was revealed that showcased a bit of the remake’s gameplay.

This trailer starts with a brief run throughout the school, along with showing off Yukari Takeba, one of the protagonist’s classmates and teammates. It also demonstrates how Yukari battles using a bow and arrow, followed by Junpei Iori hanging out with the protagonist, seemingly in a new bond scene that promises todevelop some of the male party members inPersona 3 Reload. Eventual navigator of SEES Fuuka Yamigishi was also shown to be rescued within Tartarus, along with a scene that has her talking with the protagonist.

The second half of the trailer also showed off the two senior members of SEES, Akihiko Sanada and Mitsuru Kirijo, with the latter giving a speech as the student council president. Akihiko was also utilized in the trailer, demonstrating his exemplary boxing skills against the shadows that can be found in Tartarus, scoring a critical hit, along with using his Persona, Polydeuces. The trailer is absent of some key members ofPersona 3’s party, Aigis, Ken Amada and Shinjiro Aragaki, though it’s likely they’ll appear in the future announcements.

This new trailer also highlights thebrand-new cast of voice actors forPersona 3 Reload, where all major party members sans the aforementioned Ken, Shinjiro and Aigis, all get a speaking line. Many were excited to hear these new portrayals, with many complimenting the actors for how they fit their roles. Special praise was given to Akihiko, Mitsuru, and Junpei specifically. The next full moons will take place on August 1 and August 31, so fans will likely see more information about the game and the other party members within that time.
