Developer Starbreeze Studios has released update 1.0.1 forPayday 3, the co-op heist shooter game that has had some serious troubles since it was first released.Payday 3launched in a near-unplayable state due to its various technical problems making it almost impossible for fans to find games using its matchmaking system or even sign in.Payday 3’s initial issues were ironed out shortly after launch, but the game still has many problems that need to be addressed.
Payday 3’s problems have driven many fans away from the game completely. Update 1.0.1 is available to download forPayday 3right now. The update makes a long list of changes to the co-op heist shooter, mainly fixing bugs and addressing the other technical issues that have lingered in the game since its initial launch. While there can always be unforeseen issues with new game updates, on paper, it sounds like this newPayday 3updateshould significantly improve the experience.
PS5 gamers especially will be happy about this newPayday 3update, as it finally gives them their exclusive items. One of the main controversies that surroundedPayday 3at launch was theabsence of pre-order bonus items for PS5 gamers. Some PS5 fans may still not be happy that it took this long for them to get their items, but others will just be happy that they’ve finally arrived as part of the latest update.
Payday 3still has a long way to go. At the time of this writing,Payday 3has fewer maps than its predecessor, and it still has the unfortunate always-online requirement.Future updates and DLC will no doubt bring more maps toPayday 3, and removing the always-online requirement for the game has also been discussed. Once these things come to pass, it’s possiblePayday 3will eventually meet or even exceed the quality ofPayday 2, but it’s far from that goal at the time of this writing.

BALANCE
For this patch, we wanted to primarily address minor fixes.
We are aware that Last Man Standing and Armor Up are performing a bit too well, so we plan to give them a few tweaks that keep them effective, but require a bit more setup compared to the benefits they offer. This will be in the next big patch. Outside of these two skills, we don’t expect any big nerfs coming to skills in the next patch, but given players are still getting used to the game, we’ll be keeping a close eye on the meta.
We are also aware that armor is considered the most desirable resource compared to ammo and health. We are happy with how armor itself works, but we want to put in a few more ways for players to restore it in the game. We also think health is underperforming right now, but addressing that will be a gradual change over the first year of updates, rather than one sweeping update.
