Call of Duty: Warzonehas a wide variety of skins for players to unlock and customize their Operators with, featuring skins from 2019’sCall of Duty: Modern Warfare, 2020’sCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, and 2021’sCall of Duty: Vanguard. New skins are added toCall of Duty: Warzoneon a regular basis, and while most of them aren’t problematic, one newWarzoneskins is causing serious issues.
By getting to Tier 100 in theCall of Duty: WarzoneBattle Passthat it shares withVanguard, players can unlock the Awoken skin for an Operator named Francis. The Awoken skin outfits Francis with an impressive mask and tribal gear, but it comes with an unintentional benefit as well. It seems that, from certain distances, Awoken Francis players inCall of Duty: Warzoneare almost completely invisible to their enemies.

Various clips online have shown theCall of Duty: WarzoneAwoken skinin action, with players using it invisible to their enemies except for the mask. This gives players who buy the Battle Pass and make it to tier 100 a clear unfair advantage over the competition and is definitely a serious issue in the battle royale that needs to be resolved as soon as possible. However, Activision has yet to release a statement on the matter.
It’s worth pointing out that the issues with theCall of Duty: WarzoneAwoken skin are being discovered at a time when Activision Blizzard is going through significant internal turmoil. This includedActivision Blizzard laying off QA testers at Raven Softwarewho were working onCall of Duty: Warzone. Some might point to a lack of QA testers as part of the reason why the problems with the Awoken skin weren’t caught prior to it being added to the game.
Unfortunately, this is far from the first time thatCall of Duty: Warzoneskins have given players trouble. For quite awhile, theCall of Duty: WarzoneRoze skinwas notorious for giving players an unfair advantage as the character was extremely difficult to spot compared to other characters. It took months for the Roze skin to be changed, so it’s possible that fans will have to wait quite awhile before a fix for the Awoken skin becomes available, though that remains to be seen.
Call of Duty: Warzoneupdateswill continue to be released on a regular basis, and here’s hoping one of the upcoming updates addresses the Awoken skin problem.
Call of Duty: Warzoneis out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
