Building a base inPalworldis one of the first things you should do once you have a few Pals in your party. This will allow you to keep track of all your Pals, and evensummon them to complete some tasks for you.
You might be unsure how to get started with your base, or even how you may move it if you’ve decided to change to a more fitting location. Luckily, there are only a few basic steps you’ll need to follow, and a few materials you’ll need to gather. Here’s how you can create your base and change its location.
How to Set Up a Base in Palworld
To set up a base, the only thing you will need to make is aPalbox.This recipe will become available to youonce your character reaches Level 2.you may find it under theTechnology sectionin the main menu, and unlock it using1 Technology Point.Remember that once you’ve set up your Palbox and base, this is the main hub where all of yourfarming and craftingwill take place, as well aswhere you and your Pals will sleep.

Wood is an extremely common resourcethat you can get as soon as you start. All you will need to do ispick up branches from the ground,orhit nearby treeseither with your hands or a weapon. Using a weapon will allow you to more quickly stock up on Wood.
As for Stone, you canpick up small rocks from the groundto get 2 pieces of Stone at a time, or you canhit the larger rocksto get more using your hands or a weapon. Stone will be much easier to forage when using a weapon, just like Wood.
As forPaldium Fragments,these are a much less common resource than Wood or Stone, but can still be spotted pretty easily. You can find Paldium Fragments withinsmall, shining blue rocksthat often appear in clusters. You might find a patch of land with no Paldium Fragment Rocks at all, and another patch of land with a lot. You can use the image above as a reference to what to look out for.
You can use your hands on Paldium Fragment Rocks, but it’s better tocraft yourself a weapon or a Pickaxeto more easily extract some Paldium Fragments.
How to Move a Base in Palworld
Once you’ve set up a location for your base with your Palbox, you might find that the area is not the best you could have chosen. Luckily, there’s a way tomove your base and Palboxto a new location without losing all the materialsyou used to create your Palbox.
Start by opening up theMap Screen, and hover over your base here,which will be marked with acastle icon.Here, a prompt will show up that says’Disassemble Palbox'.Use theC Keyto activate this, or whichever button shows up, depending on your platform. Another prompt will appear, giving you all the information on what will happen if you disassemble your Palbox. This includes:
After you’ve agreed to this,all the materials you used to make your Palbox will return to you.Then, you may find a new location to place your Palbox and set up a base for you and your Pals. You might want toset up a Campfire for cookingorbuild up your defenseshere to get the base up and running.
