Overwatchspawn rooms are safe places that players can go into to refill their hero’s health as well as be invulnerable to damage while inside. It’s a place where teams can safely regroup. However, one Reinhardt in particular decided to break the rules ofOverwatchitself.
Reddit user Red_Shirt_Guy13 posted a video of themselves heading straight towards the enemy spawn room on Watchpoint Gibraltar’s first point, and camping the spawn room by placingReinhardt’s big tanky bodyright in front of it. While they were doing this, their team was continuing to push the objective forward. Just as their team captured the objective, Red_Shirt_Guy13 puts down Reinhardt’s ultimate, Earthshatter, knocking down all the enemy heroes trying to get out of the spawn room before following up with a Fire Strike and Reinhardt’s powerful hammer swings. They clear the spawn room of enemies within 30 seconds.

Depending on the map, someOverwatchspawn rooms change upon one team capturing the objective. Normally, players cannot walk into enemy spawn rooms as an invisible wall prevents them from moving into the room. Once an objective is taken, the spawn rooms instantly change and the heroes inside are no longer safe from the enemy team. It can be a nasty surprise for some players if they aren’t paying attention to the objective.
Overwatchmap Watchpoint Gibraltaris infamous among someOverwatchplayers for its punishing defenders' spawn rooms as the defender spawn rooms are so close to the point where the objective gets captured. Even though Red_Shirt_Guy13 was going for an aggressive play, their team was able to provide backup as they were close to where their team needed to go to capture the objective.
