Tossing a flash grenade causes most standard enemies to flinch and become temporarily blinded, while exposed Las Plagas can be destroyed instantaneously with one. This gives Leon an opportunity to attack or run past. However, they have a downside; Leon also flinches, albeit for less time than the average Ganado. But it turns out that players can bypass this disadvantage by unlocking and equipping a set of sunglasses on Leon, as pointed out by Reddit user HowManyAccount120.
There are a few different sets of sunglasses among theResident Evil 4accessories list. If Leon is wearing any of them when he tosses a flash grenade, he won’t react to the bright light. This can save a player precious seconds to flee, perform a melee move, or do anything else the situation calls for. However, some players won’t be able to use the sunglasses on their first run through the game, as three of the four available pairs are unlocked after completing the main campaign. The fourth can be acquired from the Extra DLC pack.
