After the timeskip, Vegapunk became even more relevant to the story with the many gigantification experiments, artificial Devil Fruits, and the newly modified Pacifistas, called Seraphim, coming into play. Inthe Egghead Island Arc, fans finally were introduced to this genius whose mind is 500 years ahead of the rest of the world. Vegapunk is sure to answer some of the biggest mysteries of theOne Pieceworld. At the same time, he’s certainly going to be beneficial for characters such as Franky. Interestingly, Franky is not the only character who Vegapunk will have connections to. Sanji, the cook of the Straw Hat Pirates, is another.
Sanji’s Background
Sanji is one ofOne Piece’smost incredibly written characters. He is apart of the East Blue 5, the main characters that Oda considers to be the core of the series. Sanji aims to find the All Blue and help Luffy find the One Piece. He was recruited at the Baratie, an ocean-going restaurant, however, that’s not where he originated from. Sanji was born in the North Blue as a Prince of the Germa Kingdom and is the third son of Vinsmoke Judge and Sora.
Shortly before Sanji was born along with his brothers, Judge experimented on them in order to turn them into war machines. This experiment made all the Vinsmoke siblings extremely powerful, however, Sanji was an exception to this. While the powers of science worked magic on all the Vinsmoke siblings, Sanji remained an average human and was hated for that. Eventually, Reiju, his sister, helped him escape to the East Blue and that is where Luffy found him, nearly a decade later.

Sanji’s Powers
Sanji believed that having escaped from the Germa Kingdom meant that all ties to this part of his past were cut. However, this proved to be far from true, even after he left Whole Cake Island thinking he had resolved the matters forever. Despite Sora taking medication to reverse Judge’s experiment, all the Vinsmoke siblings were born with scientific powers to some extent. While Ichiji, Niji, and Yonji were completely successful experiments, Reiju was born with powers, alongside emotions.

Sanji held no powers and also retained his emotions. However, during the Wano Country arc, things started to unravel for him. After years, Sanji’s dormant powers started to awaken, just like his siblings. He gained an exoskeleton, more muscle mass, along withan increased physical prowess, on top of everything that he already possessed, making him strong enough to take down even Queen the Plague, a man worth 1.32 billion, effortlessly. This, expectedly, made him a person with scientific powers.
On top of this, Sanji also possesses the power of Diable Jambe, which allows him to set his body, especially his feet, on fire. While this ability is attributed to his burning emotion, it isn’t normal for people to burst into flames, unless they are of the Lunarian race. This ability of his has likely got to do something with science as well, as was hinted at by Queen during the Wano Country arc.

Vegapunk’s Connection To Judge And Sora
Being heavily influenced by science in more than one way, Sanji will have quite intriguing interactions with Dr.Vegapunk in the Egghead Island arc. Vegapunk is said to be the most brilliant scientist in the entire world of One Piece, with their mind being 500 years ahead of the rest of the world. What’s more, in the past, Vegapunk even worked together with Judge, Sanji’s father. Together, the two were a part of a group known as MADS, where they discovered the blueprint of life, the Lineage Factor. It is this lineage factor that Judge used to create the powers of the Vinsmoke Siblings.
Meanwhile, Vegapunk used this Lineage Factor to understand the essence of Devil Fruits and life itself. His latest creation, the Seraphim, are heavily based on the discovery of the Lineage Factor. As such, Vegapunk has a deep connection to Judge. However, he might also be related to Vinsmoke Sora in some way. This is evident from the fact that one of Vegapunk’s bodies, Lilith, resembles Sora in appearance. The two could well be related to one another in some way or hold a deeper bond, such as being friends, which could also be how Judge met Sora and married her. It must be noted that Sora is also called the Warrior of the Sea, and Vegapunk created an identical warrior fighting for the Navy, just like the Sora from a famous comic inOne Piece.

Vegapunk And Sanji
Clearly, Vegapunk and Sanji have a lot to talk about. From the lineage factor, which led to the development of Sanji and the Vinsmoke siblings to Diable Jambe, everything will eventually be tackled by Oda. Furthermore, Sanji will most likely find out more about Judge and possibly even his mother, Sora, through Vegapunk. Vegapunk will add another layer to Sanji’s already complex character. After all, he is the greatest scientific mind in the world ofOne Pieceand Sanji is the epitome of science itself, labeled by Oda as “the Warrior of Science” when using his Vinsmoke powers. As the story moves forward, fans will certainly see these two characters interact and Vegapunk will add more depth to the Straw Hat cook.MORE:One Piece: Biggest Mysteries About The Straw Hat Pirates
