Namiis the navigator of the Straw Hat Pirates and one of the most important members of Luffy’s journey to the Final Island, Laugh Tale. Nami is already one of the best navigators in the world ofOne Piece, if not the best. However, navigation certainly isn’t all that she does.
Just like every other member of the Straw Hat Pirates, Nami is a fighter as well as a navigator. Although she might not look to bethe strongest on the crew, she certainly ranks among the best pirates in the New World. Here’s a look at some of the most impressive things she’s done in her time on the show.

With the dream of drawing a map of the entire world, Nami set sail with Luffy properly after the events of Arlong Park. to be worthy of the Pirate King’s crew, it was essential for Nami to be strong. While she certainly is not as strong as the likes of the Monster Trio, Nami’s strength is often underestimated in the story. There have been countless instances where she has showcased her incredible powers. While this list already goes over the vast majority of them, there are other instances that deserve attention as well. With that, this list has been updated.
17Fought Through Kestia
Kestia is an ancient disease that Nami got in Little Garden. Even though this disease could have easily taken her life, Nami wanted to sail to Arabasta because she cared about Vivi way too much. This is a showcase of strength, however, not in the conventional way one would expect in a shounen story.
However, the fact that Nami was willing to tolerate this life-threatening disease just so her friend could get to her country in one piece just goes to show how strong her mentality is and, at the same time, how much her body can endure.
16Led The Rescue Of Robin
Often, fans associate Nami with being scared. While Nami is scared quite a lot of the time, she has shown real strength on many occasions. She has taken control of the crew on many instances as well. When Luffy and Zoro were taken down by the members of CP9 in Water 7, it was Nami who rallied the crew together.
This time around, she was not scared and showed more courage than even the likes of the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates. That shows real strength, however, in an unconventional manner once again. Yet, one cannot discard the incredible courage and strength that it took for Nami to get her act together and lead the crew to rescue Robin. She then proceeded to take on strong members of CP9 and even defeated one of them.
15Fought a Pacifista
On Sabaody, the entirety of the Straw Hat Pirates engaged in combat with a Pacifista. None of them were able to defeat it in a single go and, in that regard, Nami was no different. However, defeating this Pacifista was a team effort and Nami also took part. Her incredible lightning manipulation powers came in handy as the Pacifista took quite a lot of damage through its usage.
It was quite clear that Nami possessed one of the strongest arsenals of all members of the Straw Hat Pirates and she showcased these powers in quite some style, allowing for others to finish it off shortly afterwards. After the timeskip, Nami is now strong enough to take down a Pacifista all by herself effortlessly. In fact, she can even take down multiple of these in combat, which just goes to show how much he has grown in terms of strength.
14Fought The New Fishman Pirates
On Fishman Island, Nami showcased her newfound strength and the growth that she achieved during the two-year timeskip. Usopp also helped her quite a bit in creating a completely new climatact later on in the story.
On Fishman Island, Nami engaged in combat with the New Fishman Pirates. In the battle, she showcased her many abilities, such as Mirage Tempo, among others, and completely left the New Fishman Pirates dumbfounded. This arc was where every single Straw Hat showed their new abilities and Nami proved to everyone that she had not been left behind. She was fighting effortlessly to the best of her abilities on Fishman Island and that was certainly a great showing of her tremendous strength.
13Electrocuted S-Shark
Nami has continued to grow over time and,in the Final Saga, she is stronger than ever before. She gained access to Zeus permanently in Wano and she has continued to make use of him ever since then. In the Egghead arc, Nami came up against S-Shark in combat. Although Nami was not able to win against him, she was still able to pull off a powerful electric shock against him, thanks to Zeus.
S-shark appeared to be electrocuted through and through, however, at the end of the day, this was not enough to take him down. Yet, it must be remembered that at that point in the story, no character in the crew had dealt any sort of damage to any Seraphim. As such, Nami managing to make it cough up smoke with certainly quite an accomplishment. With Egghead Island currently being embroiled in war, Nami will most definitely get many opportunities to showcase her incredible powers once again. Perhaps, she will add new feats to her already long list.
12Played A Part In Buggy’s Defeat
When she was introduced in Orange Town, fans quickly got to see Nami’s strengths as a fighter. She may not be the strongest, physically speaking, but she’s one of the smartest and that’s how she fights her fights.
When fighting Buggy, Nami used the distractions around her to capture the several floating parts of Buggy and tie him up, setting him up for defeat in the process. Without Nami, Luffy would certainly have struggled far more against Buggy, but she helped him to reach victory.
11When She Stood Up To Arlong
Nami’s life was turned upside down when Arlong took over Cocoyashi village and enslaved the entire population there. Spending years trying to earn the freedom of everyone, Nami showed tremendous mental strength that even the adults lacked.
When Arlong broke his promise to her, Nami gathered everyone in the village and was willing to die fighting Arlong if that’s what it took to earn freedom. Thankfully,Luffy defeated Arlong for her, however, Nami’s incredible resolve and determination certainly make her strong.
10Nami Versus Miss Doublefinger
Fans' first taste of Nami’s abilities in a one-on-one fight came during the Alabasta arc, where she faced off against Miss Doublefinger. Doublefinger, the partner of Mr. 1, was extremely powerful and certainly someone who could give any of the Straw Hat crew some problems at that time.
Despite being outclassed, Nami not only persevered but also devised a way to defeat her. Using the power of weather, Nami was able to completely overwhelm Miss Doublefinger and continue to help Vivi afterward.
9Nami Versus Hotori & Kotori
The Skypiea arc ofOne Piecesaw Nami and Gan Fall take on Hotori and Kotori while trying to protect Sanji and Usopp. Despite the two having powerful Haki, Nami put up quite a decent fight against them. In the end, she defeated Kotori by using an Impact Dial.
The fact that Nami was strong enough to sustain the use of an Impact Dial without any practice goes to show that she certainly wasn’t weak then. Since then, Nami has come a long way and is now stronger than ever before.
8Nami Versus Kalifa
PerhapsNami’s best fightin the story so far, Nami’s fight against Kalifa saw her take on a master of Rokushiki, who had a Douriki of 630. Being a master of the Rokushiki, Kalifa was a superhuman whom few could stand up against.
Once again, Nami found herself on the back foot at the beginning of the fight but as the battle raged on, she started to take control and get stronger. Nami completely outclassed Kalifa in both tactics and the usage of their abilities. Nami didn’t even suffer any major injury while defeating her and persevered until the end.
