Ever since returning from its month-long hiatus,One Piecehas picked up from where it left off. With every passing chapter, Eiichiro Oda has continued to provide the readers with a great deal of new information regarding different things such as the history of Wano, and the current status of some characters.

In the most recent chapter, Oda focused on the pirates as they were getting ready to leave Wano Country andset sail to their next destination. In the midst of all the celebrations, there was an important revelation that would affect the story, which was linked to the future of the Mokomo Dukedom.

A New Era For Zou

Nekomamushi and Inuarashi two rulers of the Mokomo Dukedom took a very major decision inOne PieceChapter 1056, which was directly linked to the future of the Minks. Inuarashi and Nekomamushi decided to name their successor, and their decision came as a shock to all the people who were present as no one expected the character that they named. They anointed Carrot the next ruler of the Mokomo Dukedom.

The reason behind their decision was thatInuarashi and Nekomamushi want to stay behindin Wano Country and serve as the samurai of Kozuki Momonosuke. This is a smart decision considering that the country needs to get stronger as there are a lot of people, who want to seize control of it. Being named the ruler of Mokomo Dukedom is obviously a huge step for Carrot as being the ruler of a nation is not an easy job, and it carries a lot of responsibilities.

The most shocking thing about the decision is the fact that Carrot is so young, and she lacks experience in comparison to the other Minks, who have been involved in the story so far. Someone like Wanda would have been a better choice as she is more experienced and arguably has better decision-making.

However, Nekomamushi and Inuarashi aren’t fools, they know what they are doing, and the most significant reason why they named Carrot the next ruler was because she carries Pedro’s will. It is an undeniable fact that Carrot was indeed closest to Pedro, and when the latter died, she was absolutely heartbroken. She vowed to avenge Pedro, by killingCharlotte Perospero, who is Big Mom’s eldest son. After Nekomamushi defeated Perospero, Carrot can finally rest at ease and take up the big responsibility. With Carrot at the helm of things, she will successfully carry out Pedro’s will and take the Mokomo Dukedom into a new era.

Changing Mokomo Dukedom

As the new ruler of Mokomo Dukedom, Carrot will help the Minks to recover completely from the damagecaused by the Beasts Pirates. It is not unknown that the Minks have actually been living by themselves on Zunesha, but with Carrot that will probably change. She has the courage to lead the Minks to a new era, where they don’t have to stay away from the other races, and they could start living in harmony with them. As she carries Pedro’s will, Carrot strongly believes that a new era coming soon.

Also, since she traveled with the Straw Hats, Carrot knows that they are the ones, who will bring about a great change in the entire world. The Straw Hats will be leaving Wano Country soon, and once they do, they will get even closer to getting their hands on the One Piece. While the Straw Hats set out to accomplish their goals, Carrot will attempt to get the Minks ready for what’s to come.

A New Role

Before the chapter came out, there was a lot of speculation about the future of Carrot. When she joined the Straw Hats in the Zou arc, she became a fan favorite in no time. Carrot fitted nicely with the crew, and she didn’t feel out of place at all. Carrot’s cheerful personality was a big hit with the fans, and she formed a solid team with Chopper. She is kind, and she knows how to fight, which makes her a well-balanced character. Carrot played a crucial role in the Whole Cake Island arc, where she helped the Straw Hats to escape the territory of Big Mom.

After her exploits in Whole Cake Island, Carrot seemed almost indispensable to the crew, and as she came to Wano Country, it seemed that Carrot would once again be in the spotlight, but that wasn’t the case. Carrot played a rather limited role in the Wano Country arc, which upset quite a lot of fans. The reason behind Carrot’s limited screentime was the introduction of Yamato. No one expected Yamato to be such a great character, with a very interesting backstory. Despite being the son of Kaido, Yamato was heavily inspired by Kozuki Oden. Yamato read about Oden, and he went through the latter’s journal.

Yamato fought against Kaido, which allowed Luffy to recover. After Kaido was defeated, Yamato openly claimed that hewanted to join the Straw Hat Pirates. This left Carrot’s future hanging in the balance, and the fans were extremely sad, but with Carrot receiving a new position, there isn’t a lot to complain about. There is no doubt that Carrot will struggle in her new position, but she has the right people around her, who care about her well-being, and they will guide Carrot down the right path so that she becomes an excellent ruler.
