The strength of a character is primarily gauged by their attacking process. While it is true that an individual needs a certain amount of strength to win, it is foolish to overlook the defense. InOne Piece, fans have seen many instances where a character with devastating attacking abilities failed to scratch an opponent with a solid defense.
All the great fighters inOne Piecehave worked on their offensive and defensive abilities. Naturally, there is a discrepancy in their level of mastery. Some of them have much better defense than the rest, giving them an edge over the rest.
6Charlotte Cracker
Devil Fruit: Bisu Bisu no Mi
Charlotte Cracker was a Sweet Commanderof the Big Mom Pirates. He was sent to deal with Luffy before the latter could make it to the main island. Cracker was a strong individual, and he gave Luffy a lot of trouble.
Cracker used his Bisu Bisu no Mi to create biscuit soldiers, each one of which had the strength necessary to hold off a pirate of Luffy’s stature. These biscuit soldiers had a tough exterior, and they could even withstand blows from Luffy’s Gear 4th attacks. The hero would not have managed to win the fight if Nami hadn’t intervened and made the biscuits soft.
5Monkey D. Luffy
Devil Fruit: Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika
Monkey D. Luffy is the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates and one of the most well-known pirates in the world. He set out to accomplish his dream when he was still very young. Luffy had trained with his Devil Fruit, but he hadn’t mastered it. With time, Luffy accumulated more experience, which helped him understand his powers better.
This helped himcreate different Gears thatbolstered his physical attributes in different ways. Luffy is able to withstand potent attacks from his enemies with little to no problem. In the Final Saga, fans can expect Luffy’s powers to improve further.
4Sanji
Devil Fruit: None
Sanji is a former prince of the Germa Kingdom. Like the rest of his siblings, he too was a victim of Judge’s vile experiments. Judge wanted to use his knowledge of the Lineage Factor to create superhuman soldiers who would help him achieve his personal goals. At first, Sanji did not display his genetic enhancements, so he was branded as a failure.
He finally awakened the powersin the Wano Country arcwhile fighting Queen. Due to the improvements, Sanji survived his bones being crushed. When Queen tried to hit Sanji with his blade, it didn’t affect the latter in the least. In fact, Sanji was able to function normally. It is safe to say that these enhancements not only boosted his strength but his defense as well.
3Kaido
Devil Fruit: Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu
Kaido was the main villain of the Wano Country arc. He was the captain of the Beasts Pirates and one of the Four Emperors of the Sea. Kaido was an exceptionally strong character, and, according to most people, it was impossible to best him in a 1v1. Most of Kaido’s achievements stemmed from his ridiculous strength.
Kaido was able to use all three types of Haki, including their advanced versions. He could see the future, which made it difficult for an opponent to land an attack on him. Kaido’s power was boosted by his Devil Fruit. He ate the Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu,a Mythical Zoan-type Devil Fruitthat allowed him to transform into an Azure Dragon. The scaly skin heightened Kaido’s defenses, making it impossible for ordinary attacks to hurt him. Luffy had to master Conqueror’s Haki and awaken his Devil Fruit to bring down this behemoth.
2Bartolomeo
Devil Fruit: Bari Bari no Mi
Bartolomeo is the biggest fan of the Straw Hat Pirates. He adores all of them, and he dedicated his life to them. Bartolomeo’s antics may lead a person to think that he’s not dangerous, but the truth is quite the opposite. Not only is he a fearsome pirate, but he is also a Supernova.
Bartolomeo’s impenetrable defense is because of his Devil Fruit. He ate the Bari Bari no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that has the power to create barriers. The barriers are capable of withstanding extremely potent attacks without any problems. They are unfazed by attacks by someone as strong as Kozuki Oden. Whether this Devil Fruit has any significant weaknesses remains to be seen.
1Topman Warcury
Devil Fruit: Fengxi Yokai
St. Topman Warcury is the Godhead of Justice, which means he oversees everything related to this particular department. Aside from his high authority within the World Government, Topman Warcury also possesses incredible strength. He possesses Conqueror’s Haki, with which he can take down weaker individuals without any problems.
Topman Warcury also has theability to turn into Fengxi, a mythical creature that resembles a giant boar. In this particular form, Topman Warcury’s defense increases by several folds. This was evident when Luffy tried to strike him but ended up hurting his own hand. One important thing to keep in mind is that Luffy used Gear 3rd and Haki. The same combination was effective against Kaido, yet it couldn’t do anything against Topman Warcury.
