Wordlewent viral back in early 2022, and it became massively popular. Because this game popped up everywhere on social media, others were quick to copyWordle’s winning formula. In order to play the original version and the subject of this article, players will need to go to the New York Times Games site or Crossword app. Other versions may have different answers or slightly different rules, like theWordleclone that has dog breeds as answers calledDogsdle.

First things first: players need to start by choosing a starter word. This word must be five letters long and a real English word that’s not a proper noun.Wordleanswers are never offensive words, are rarely non-American versions of words, and are never plural nouns ending in S. There are yet to be any repeat answers, so players may want to avoidall previousWordleanswers.
Next, type the chosenstartingWordlewordinto the site and press enter. This will cause the letters to change colors, and this will give players some clues to the answer.
Players have a total of six tries to get to the answer before they lose the game. There is only one puzzle a day, and those will reset daily at midnight local time. In order to see how much time is left until a new puzzle is ready, players can check theWordlemenu, which pops up automatically when the puzzle is complete or players can click the graph icon in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
